Unlucky Sevens for Klein

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Bill Klein called a two-bet from another player and on fourth street had put the last of his 1,500 in the middle.

Bill Klein: {X-}{X-} / {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Opponet: {X-}{X-} / {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Klein revealed a {5-Spades}{7-Diamonds} in the hole for a pair of sevens but was in bad shape against his opponent's hole cards {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}. The last streets would not improve his hand and Klein became the latest casualty on Day 1 of the $1,500 Seven Card Stud.

Kessler Misreads Cards

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Allen Kessler completed to 500 and Pablo Ortiz made it two bets to go. A short-stacked player called all in for his last 600, and Kessler called also.

Kessler bet fourth and Ortiz called, and when Kessler paired on fifth, he bet out 1,000 but Ortiz folded.

Kessler: {X-}{X-} / {8-Spades}{A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}
Ortiz: {X-}{X-} / {10-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{3-Spades}
Opponent: {X-}{X-} / {8-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

"Four spades and aces!" announced Kessler before he revealed his {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} in the hole.

"Ah, that ain't four spades." quipped a player.

"Oh God. I would have never played this hand if I knew that. It's just so dark in here!" Kessler added before each player's board ran out as follows:

Kessler: {K-Clubs}{J-Spades} / {8-Spades}{A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} / {10-Spades}
Opponent: {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} / {8-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} / {7-Clubs}

As Kessler's opponent made two pair to win the main pot, a player joked, "Hey look, you would have made the flush!"
