Martini Scoops; Hoang Strikes Back

Level 32 : 120,000/240,000, 0 ante

Julien Martini won a few smaller pots and claimed a big one before getting scooped by Kate Hoang.

Hoang raised, Martini three-bet and Hoang called. On the {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, Martini bet and Hoang called. On the {3-Hearts} turn, Martini checked and subsequently raised, Hoang called. On the {7-Hearts} river, Martini bet and Hoang folded.

The Frenchman raised the next hand Kate Hoang called. On a {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop, Hoang check-called a bet and did so again on the {10-Spades} turn. The {2-Hearts} fell on the river and Hoang check-raised, Martini called. Martini showed {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} for the nut straight and a counter feit low, while Hoang chopped and took the low pot with {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

In a min-raised pot to the {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop, Martini checked, Hoang bet and Martini raised before Hoang made it three bets. Martini called and check-called a bet on the {2-Clubs} turn. The Frenchman also checked the {10-Spades} river and Hoang bet.

After plenty of consideration, Martini called and was shown {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for the nut flush by Hoang. "I was close to fold a set of queens," Martini said and lost a big portion of his previous profit again.
