Tsang Misses But Wins

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 400 ante

NL Five-Card Draw

Scott Bohlman opened for 3,500 in the cutoff and Yan Shing Tsang called in the big blind. Each player drew a card and both checked.

"One pair," Tsang said, opening {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.

Bohlman indicated it was a winner and Tsang followed with {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, showing he'd missed a flush draw but paired.

Deeb Scoops Leibgorin with a Broadway

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 400 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Michel Leibgorin and Shaun Deeb were all in preflop when we arrived and the dealer was just about to spread out the board.

Michel Leibgorin: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Shaun Deeb: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}

The board ran {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Deeb rivered the nut straight to bust Leibgorin ten spots shy of paid places.

Deeb was up to 125,000 and he won another sizeable pot in the following minutes, climbing to 180,000.

Poker Lessons from Kelsall

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 400 ante

NL 2-7 Single Draw

The draws were done between Perry Green on the button and Andrew Kelsall in the big blind, and the former bet 4,000. Kelsall fired in a check-raise to 19,500 and Green went into the tank. It sounded like he said he had made a ten. Eventually, he decided to fold.

"I know I have you," he proclaimed.

"If you know you have me, you should call," Kelsall reasoned. "It seems like in poker if you know you have someone, you should call them. That's how it should work."

Green Scores a Knockout

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 400 ante

NL 2-7 Single Draw

We caught up with the action post-draw where Perry Green moved all in for close to 30,000 over his opponent's 10,000-bet. Green had his rival just covered and the player grabbed his belongings and pushed them towards the middle.

Green rolled over {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} and the other player couldn't match that with {9-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Green was awarded the whole stack while his opponent was already on his way out of the Amazon Tan section.

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 300 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Daniel Harmetz got it all in preflop for about 17,000 with {5-}{5-} but was dominated by the {8-}{8-} of Warwick Mirzikinian. The board ran out five-free and Mirzikinian faded a turned gutterball as well to score the knockout.

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 300 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

John Racener was on the button, tangling with small blind Daniel Weinman on a flop of {7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Racener had placed a bet of around 2,500 in front of him but Weinman check-raised to 7,300. Racener called.

The {9-Clubs} hit the felt on the turn and Weinman continued for 12,500. Racener spent about a minute before making his decision and eventually laid his hand down.

Joao Vieira checked from the small blind on {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Daniel Weinman bet 2,000. Vieira made it 6,800 and Weinman stuck around. Both checked the {k-Diamonds} turn and {7-Spades} river, with Vieira thinking awhile on the end.

Vieira showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Weinman took it with {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

Meservy Doubles with a Full House

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 300 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

WIth the turn reading {6-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, Tyler Meservy was in the cutoff, firing 8,000 into the pot. Naoya Kihara (under the gun) check-called and the river came {K-Spades}.

Kihara checked again and Meservy announced he was all in. Kihara asked for a count and it was 27,150. Kihara cut out the required amount and slid it forward.

Meservy quickly turned up {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a full house and Kihara threw his cards away.

Henson Draws Number Two

Ray Henson

PL 2-7 Triple Draw

Shiva Dudani made it 2,400 in the first position and Ray Henson responded with a three-bet out of the small blind, making it 8,000. Dudani announced a pot-sized raise and both players quickly realized that they were just going to stuff it in pre.

Both drew one on the first draw and Henson then stood pat. Dudani took one again on each of the remaining draws.

Henson opened {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for Number Two but he hadn't locked it up just yet.

Dudani had {7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} and a four would give him a wheel to eliminate Henson. Dudani, however, peeled a five and had to ship Henson 42,900 in chips.
