Bach On a Roller Coaster

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
David Bach
David Bach

On a first hand, David Bach raised and it was called by Jon Kyte in the big blind. The flop fell {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Kyte checked-called a bet from Bach. The same action happened on both the {7-Hearts} turn and {q-Spades} river. Bach tabled {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, and was dominated by Kyte's {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

Bach was left with a very short stack around 3,000 after that hand. He opened the next one from the cutoff position and Rex Clinkscales on the button made the call. The flop went {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and Clinkscales called another bet from Bach. The turn brought the {5-Clubs} and Bach went all in for his last 900.

Clinkscales made the call with {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}, but Bach was holding a better hand with {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. The river {q-Hearts} improved Bach's hand to two pair, and he doubled up to a stack worth 6,500.
