Welcome back to PokerNews' coverage of the 2018 World Series of Poker. Mixed game maniacs get ready because Event #46: Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better is about to kick off.

Last year, Smith Sirisakorn topped a field of 405 players to take down a first place prize of $215,902. Sirisakorn battled it out at an extremely tough final table containing Barry Greenstein, Jameson Painter, Alex Luneau, and Jared Bleznick to lock up his first gold bracelet. Before that, Sirisakorn had no live recorded cashes.

This event represents the only mixed stud and Omaha tournament this series, so it's one of a kind in its own right. Players can consider it a warm-up of sorts for Event #64: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship which kicks off on July 1, or a cooldown from Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship which Paul Volpe took down just a few weeks ago now.

Today, players are set to play ten, one-hour levels kicking off at 3 p.m. (PDT). Players will start with 12,500 chips and late registration will be open and running until right around midnight. Action will kick off with limits of 150-300 and is scheduled to go on for three days of play. PokerNews will be here to cover it all, so make sure to stay tuned in.

Cernuto Drops One

Level 1 : 150/300, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Picking up the action on a board of {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts} action checked to John Cernuto in a three-way pot. He put out a bet and his opponent on the button made it two bets. Action folded back to Cernuto and he called.

The river was the {q-Hearts} and Cernuto check-called one more bet but his opponent showed his {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for the nut flush. Cernuto sent over the pot and dropped a bit below the starting stack mark.

Roland Israelashvili was the bring in with the {5-Clubs}. One player completed showing the {6-Hearts} and Andrew Barber called with the {J-Diamonds}. Action folded back to Israelashvili who called.

Roland Israelashvili: {x-}{x-}/{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Opponent: {x-}{x-}/{6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} — Folded on fifth
Andrew Barber: {x-}{x-}/{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} — Folded on fourth

On fourth, Israelashvili checked as the first player to act. The other player in the hand put out a bet which Barber quickly folded too. Israelashvili called though.

On fifth street, Israelasvili led out with a bet. His opponent thought for a bit, then folded his {3-}{3-} for wired threes face up. Israelashvili took down the small pot.
