Kenney Doubles Through Chidwick

Level 18 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Action folded around to the small blind blind where Bryn Kenney moved all in for right around 1,200,000. Stephen Chidwick was in the big blind and he quickly called.

Brynn Kenney: {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Stephen Chidwick: {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Kenney was in the lead and he pair his ten on the {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop, but that gave Chidwick outs to a straight with a nine. The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and the river was the {Q-Diamonds} though, and that meant that Kenney would double back over 2 million chips while Chidwick dropped to right around 5,620,000

Holz Starting Strong

Level 18 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Fedor Holz opened on the first hand of the day and Aymon Hata defended his big blind. Hata check-folded on the flop, and Holz then opened the very next hand. He took down the blinds and antes.

On the third hand of the day, with Holz in the big blind, Stephen Chidwick limped in from the cutoff. "Deception," said Holz, smiling, as he checked his big blind.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades} and both players checked. The turn was the {8-Spades}. Holz bet 150,000 and Chidwick called.

The river was the {7-Hearts} putting a straight on the board. Holz bombed it, betting 800,000. Chidwick snap-called.

Holz showed {10-Spades}{4-Clubs} for a straight, Chidwick showed {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} also for a straight. "No way," said Holz as the pair chopped it up.

Adrian Mateos raised all in for 2,050,000 from the cutoff, and Chris Moore isolated with a shove of his own from the small blind.

Mateos showed {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}, while Moore tabled a dominating {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, giving Mateos threes full of nines on the river to double through Moore.

Nick Petrangelo Leads the Way into Day 3 of $100,000 High Roller

Nick Petrangelo

Welcome to PokerNews' Day 3 coverage of Event #5: $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller. The starting field of 105 entries is down to just 10 players, each looking to capture the first-place prize of $2,910,227 and a coveted World Series of Poker bracelet.

Nick Petrangelo begins Day 3 in pole position thanks in large part to being on the right side of a cooler late on Day 2. Just after the money was reached, Petrangelo scored a double elimination and vaulted to the top of chip counts. Second in chips is Elio Fox, fresh off winning his second WSOP bracelet just three days ago. Superstars Stephen Chidwick, Jason Koon, and Fedor Holz round out the top five remaining stacks.

Here are the Day 3 seating assignments:

The remaining field is absolutely stacked. Five bracelet winners remain, and some of poker's biggest names that have yet to capture that elusive first bracelet are also still in the hunt. After one elimination, the field will condense down to one table. The plan for the day is to play down to the final six players, although that is subject to change.

Keep it here for live updates on all of the action as the quest to crown the next WSOP High Roller champion continues!
