Yosifov Takes a Hit

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Play was on the flop with {j-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} down. Andrew Graham was first to act and he bet 14,000, which Dimitar Yosifov called. There was a {10-Hearts} on the turn and Graham barreled, making it 22,000 this time. Once again Yosifov called.

The {5-Hearts} completed the board and after much thinking, both players checked. Graham showed {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for the flush and Yosifov couldn't beat it, sending his cards into the muck. The loss has not had a big effect on Yosifov's stack, he still has over four times the average.

Lewis Off to a Great Start

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Toby Lewis has more than tripled his stack since he sat down today. Most recently he won a substantial pot against multiple bracelet winner Michael Gathy.

All the cards were out and the board read {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Lewis had moved all-in for 54,800 into a pot of over 100,000. Gathy went into the tank and eventually made the call. He knocked the table when he saw Lewis' held {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} in his hand.

Ace-High is Good for Merson

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Greg Merson
Greg Merson

Three players saw a flop of {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} and the small blind checked to Greg Merson who fired out a bet of 6,500 from under the gun. Davide Suriano was on the button and thought for a moment before putting in a raise to 19,000. The small blind folded but Merson stuck around.

The turn brought the {2-Clubs} and both players checked to the {9-Clubs} on the river. Merson checked again and Suriano checked back. Merson flipped over {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for a missed flush draw but his ace-high was good enough to force Suriano's cards to the muck.

Aido Check-Jams on Liperis

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Sergio Aido opened to 4,000 from the cutoff and Yiannis Liperis three-bet to 12,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Aido made the call to go heads-up to a flop of {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

Aido started with a check and Liperis followed it up with a bet of 9,200. Aido thought for over a minute before announcing all in for around 80,000. Liperis wasted little time before releasing his cards to the muck and sending the pot to Aido.

Petrone Cold Four-Bets After Some Confusion

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Adam Singer opened to 2,700 and Daniel Ott three-bet him from the button to 6,400. Ramiro Petrone was on the big blind and before he had had a chance to act, Singer moved to call by making up the difference. On realising he'd acted out of turn he apologized but we'll never know if this affected Petrone's decision. Taking another thirty seconds to think, Petrone cold four-bet to 19,500. Singer folded and a call would've committed half of Ott's total chips. He decided to pass as well and Petrone collected the pot.

Pyzara Sends Cohen to the Rail

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Samantha Cohen raised to 2,500 from the cutoff and was called by the button. Kacper Pyzara was in the big blind and three-bet to 11,000. Cohen called and the button folded. The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Pyzara led out for 15,000. Cohen still called and the {5-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Both players checked to see the {j-Hearts} on the river. Pyzara eyed up Cohen's stack and then stuck in enough chips to put Cohen to the test for her remaining 47,000 chips. Cohen thought for several minutes before finally tossing a chip into the pot to signify a call. Pyzara tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for the nut flush while Cohen could only muster a pair of aces with {a-Spades}{7-Spades}.
