Aranda Sends Wilkins to the Rail

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante
Matthew Wilkins
Matthew Wilkins

A player under the gun opened to 2,000, Nicholas Aranda flatted from late position, and Matthew Wilkins called from the small blind. The flop came down {6-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Action checked to the initial raiser who led out for 3,000, Aranda called, and Wilkins check-raised to 10,500. The initial raiser folded, Aranda called, and the turn fell the {a-Hearts}.

Wilkins moved all in for around 25,000 and Arana thought for a few moments but then slammed the chips in the middle to signify the call. The players turned over their hands.

Wilkins tabled {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a flush and straight draw, Aranda turned over {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} for a pair of kings. The river came the {8-Spades} and Aranda's kings held on to take down the pot, eliminating Wilkins.
