Clarke Eliminates Gross On the River

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Jeff Gross
Jeff Gross

During the break, Jeff Gross told us more about his elimination against Patrick Clarke.

At the end of level 22, 6,000/12,000 ante 2,000, Gross opened for 29,000, holding {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} and with a total stack worth 470,000. Patrick Clarke raised it to 87,000 and it folded back to Gross who four-bet to 216,000. Clarke shoved all in for a stack around 700,000, putting Gross tournament at risk. Gross snap-called to see {k-}{k-} in Clarke's hand.

Gross had a big advantage to win the hand, but the {10-}{9-}{6-}{7-}{k-} run out gave a set of kings on the river to Clarke who eliminated Gross from the tournament.
