Nitsche Puts his Opponent to the Test

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The board showed {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Spades}, the hijack checked to Dominik Nitsche who moved all in for more than enough to cover his opponent's remaining 165,000 and the pot already contained 265,000.

His opponent tanked for several minutes before making the fold and Nitsche took in the pot, showing the {a-Clubs} as he threw his cards in the muck.

Alexandru Papazian
Alexandru Papazian

Alexandru Papazian has had an extremely good past half hour. Earlier, the Romanian poker player was sitting with 'just' 400,000 in front of him, but he took a stack of 750,000 with him when he was moved to another table.

Papazian won a bracelet at last year's World Series of Poker, but has yet to make any deep runs at this year's series.

The board read {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Jose Reyes moved all in for 190,000 into a pot with around 80,000 in it. His opponent made the call for his remaining 125,000 and the players turned over their hands.

Reyes tabled {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} for a pair of aces and his opponent turned over {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a pair of fours with a straight draw. The river came the {6-Clubs} and Reyes took down the pot with his aces.

Greenwood Loses a Chunk

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Lucas Greenwood just lost a big part of his stack after reshoving all in.

The flop was already out there and read {3-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. A player was all in for 54,000 and Greenwood pushed all in himself for about 115,000. The third player involved in the pot folded his hand and the players opened up their cards.

Lucas Greenwood: {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}

The board was completed with the {8-Hearts} turn and the {10-Hearts} river and Greenwood couldn't get there to claim the pot.

Duong Finds an Optimal Flop

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The flop was showing {5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, Ty Duong moved all in over his opponents bet for 70,400, and his opponent made the call. Duong showed {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for a flopped set and his opponent tabled {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for a pair of aces.

The {7-Clubs} on the turn and {6-Clubs} on the river changed nothing as Duong found a double with his dimes.

Jeff Gross in an Earlier Event

The board read {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, a player in late position led for 23,000 into a pot around 70,000, and Jeff Gross took some time to think.

After a few moments, Gross made the call and his opponent tabled {a-Spades}{9-Spades} for ace high. Gross turned over {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for a better ace high and enough to take down the pot.
