Zinno Fires Every Street

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

There was a massive pile of chips in the middle and the complete board of {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} was out when we arrived at the table. The player in the big blind checked, Anthony Zinno bet 45,000 from the button, and after over a minute in the tank, the big blind folded.

As Zinno stacked his newly acquired chips, he told us that he'd raised preflop to 6,000 and the big blind had been the only caller. His opponent check-called bets of 8,000 on the flop and 22,000 on the turn before he gave up.

Nitsche Scores a Double KO to Drag a Massive Pot

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

We arrived at the table when three hands were on their backs as Dominik Nitsche, Noah Schwartz, and William Migely tangled preflop with Nitsche covering both of his opponents. Schwartz had over 120,000 while Migely had about 115,000.

Migely: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Schwartz: {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Nitsche: {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

The dealer spread out a board of {3-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}, giving Nitsche the nut straight to notch a double elimination. Nitsche dragged in a gigantic pot to surpass 500,000 in chips and take the pole position.

"It's my tournament!" Nitsche said while Schwartz and Migely were headed for the payouts with Migely taking a picture of the hands and the board before leaving.

Newcombe Survives

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

John Newcombe moved all in for 7,900 on the button and Tom Midena looked him up from the small blind.

"I'll need some luck," Newcombe said, showing {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}. But he was doing fine against {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, blocking two of Midena's outs. Newcombe liked the {9-Spades}{A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop and the {9-Hearts} turn locked it for him, leaving the {J-Diamonds} river a formality.

Bambrick's Quads Are Good

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante
Ryan Bambrick earlier this summer
Ryan Bambrick earlier this summer

With about 25,000 chips in the pot and the board reading {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}, Ryan Bambrick bet 17,000 from the big blind. After some thought, Brian Rast called from the button.

"Five," announced Bambrick as he tabled {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for quads. Rast mucked and Bambrick took the pot to put his stack over the 200,000-chip mark.

Bohlman Mucks His Hand

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Scott Bohlman was out of position, facing off against Jeffrey Higgins. We picked up the action on a board of {K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} at the turn where Bohlman led out 15,000 into 25,200 and Higgins called. Bohlman fired 15,000 again on the {J-Clubs} river and Higgins leaned back in his chair, taking off his headphones. Then he tossed in calling chips and Bohlman threw his hand straight into the muck, leaving Higgins with the pot.

Yang Snaps Simao

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

There were about 27,000 chips in the pot and the complete board of {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} was out when we got to the table. Shaome Yang bet 17,000 from the big blind, and after some consideration, Joao Simao raised to 60,000 from the button. Yang called instantly to put himself at risk and tabled {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for the nut straight. Simao mucked, and Yang took the pot.
