Baghalzadeh Makes the Bubble and Keeps Smiling

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

On a board showing {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and a raised pot, Nicholas Verderamo bet from the hijack position and [Removed:321] Baghalzadeh situated in the cutoff made the call.

Things heated on the turn {k-Clubs}. Verderamo tossed a stack of 5,000 chips, putting Baghalzadeh's tournament at risk. The latter quickly called with a remaining stack around 40,000.

Baghalzadeh, holding {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, was in desperate shape for a double-up, facing {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for Verderamo, but found no help on the river {q-Spades} and got eliminated from the tournament as the bubble boy.

Baghalzadeh took it with a smile and made his way to the exit.
