Sontheimer Catches Badziakouski's Bluff

Level 4 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

There was nearly 800,000 already in the pot on the river between Steffen Sontheimer and Mikita Badziakouski. The board was {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Sontheimer was first to act. He checked over to Badziakouski who put out a bet of 500,000 and that sent Sontheimer into the tank. He thought for nearly a minute, using one of his time extensions before he called.

Badziakouski let out a sigh and showed down his {8-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a busted straight draw. Sontheimer tabled his {9-Clubs}{7-Spades} for two pair and it would earn him the pot.

"Were you thinking about raising?" Mattew Siegal asked.

"For a second," Sontheimer said smiling.
