Katz Can't Pull the Trigger

Level 8 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Fedor Holz opened to 90,000 from middle position and Justin Bonomo called from the small blind. Cary Katz three-bet to 400,000 out of the big blind and Holz called while Bonomo folded.

The flop came {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Katz check-called a bet of 225,000 from Holz. The turn brought the {2-Hearts} and both players checked to the {q-Spades} on the river. Katz went into the tank, using up two time extensions before finally checking. Holz quickly checked back and Kats announced king-high.

Holz wanted to see the hand, however, and Katz turned over {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Holz tabled {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for the winner and Nick Petrangelo gave his bit of advice. "I think five-fifty was the answer," he said to Katz who was contemplating a river bluff.
