Hall Finds a Call

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante
Cate Hall
Cate Hall

Cate Hall opened with a raise to 1,600 from early position and action folded around to the cutoff where Michael Verhaaf called. Everyone else folded so the two headed to a flop.

The flop was {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {9-Spades} on the turn. There, Hall led out for 3,500 and Verhaaf called.

On the {7-Hearts} river, Hall slowed down and checked. Verhaaf put out a bet of 11,100 which represented a big portion of Halls remaining stack. She thought about it for a bit over a minute then eventually she decided to call. Verhaaf showed down his {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for a busted straight draw and Hall made the correct call holding her {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a pair of sevens. She collected the pot and moved over 40,000 chips.
