Dan Colman Eliminated

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante
Daniel Colman
Daniel Colman

In one of the last hands of the previous blind level Dan Colman raised to 1,000 from under the gun. Two players called and they went three handed to the {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop. Colman continued with a bet of 2,000 and both players called.

The turn was the {a-Spades} and the action check around. The river was the {j-Spades} and it checked to the player in late position who bet 5,000. With the action back on Colman he check-raised all in for about 39,000 and his opponent called.

Colman showed {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs} but his opponent turned over {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for jacks full of tens to earn the pot and the elimination.

Tom Cannuli
Tom Cannuli

The board read {j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, Tom Cannuli bet 7,200 from the big blind position into a pot around 16,500 and his opponent in the cutoff made the call.

The {5-Diamonds} came on the turn, both players checked and the river fell the {7-Clubs}. Cannuli reached for chips and threw in a bet of 15,000. His opponent thought briefly, but made the call in the end and Cannuli then turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for a pair of aces.

His opponent mucked his hand, the 2015 main event 6th place finisher scooped in the pot and will be looking for another deep run this year.

Heimiller Loses Two in a Row

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante

On a flop of {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{a-Clubs} in a raised pot, Dan Heimiller check-raised to 5,000 after a bet of 2,000 from his opponent. The latter called and they went heads-up to see the {a-Diamonds} on the turn. Heimiller checked and mucked his hand after his opponent bet 6.000.

The hand after, the action folded to Heimiller who completed his small blind and Mike Leah checked his big blind. The flop brought {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Heimiller bet 800. After some thought, Leah called and the dealer showed a {q-Spades} on the turn. Both players checked.

The river was the {k-Diamonds} and Heimiller check-folded a bet of 1,500 from Leah.

Negreanu Eliminated by Isaia

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Davidi Kitai raised to 1,125 from middle position, and Alessio Isaia called in the cutoff. The action folded around to Daniel Negreanu in the big blind, and he moved all in for 18,000.

Kitai folded, but Isaia made the call.

Alessio Isaia: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Daniel Negreanu: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Board: {2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Negreanu was in good shape for a double-up with pocket jacks, and every spectator in the ESPN Main Stage stood to see the dealer put down the board. When the flop revealed the 10-of-clubs, there was an array of gasps as Isaia took the lead.

Negreanu needed to hit a jack on the turn or river, but it didn't come, which resulted in the six-time WSOP bracelet winner and all-time money list leader being eliminated in the final level of the day.

Umdenstock Sends Another One to the Rail

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante

Joseph Umdenstock is very active on Day 1c of the Main Event. He got up to a big stack early in the day but has been hovering around the 130,000 mark for a couple hours now.

He saw a three-way flop appear on the board and it was {10-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The player in the small blind and Umdenstock in early position checked to the player in the hijack. He bet out 5,200. Both the players called and the dealer put down a turn.

The turn was the {5-Clubs} and again they checked to the player in the hijack. He pushed all in and the bet was 15,525. The player in the small blind folded, but after some contemplation, Umdenstock decided to call.

Joseph Umdenstock: {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Hijack: {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and with that, Umdenstock sent another player home.

Simko Can't Hold Against One-Outer

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante

Milan Simko was in the small blind, three-betting to 5,500 over a 1,500-raise from early position. The original raiser four-bet jammed for 29,000 and Simko snapped him off with {K-}{K-}. Simko was in great shape against {10-}{10-}, especially when one of the other players at the table confirmed to have folded a ten.

But the last ten in the deck arrived on the flop and Simko's kings couldn't recover, leaving the 120-blind pot to his opponent. Simko now sits on 23,000.

Mathews Gets it in Three-Way, Takes it Down with Four

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante

There were three people with all their chips in the middle, A short stack opponent with 15,950, Toby Mathews with 30,625, and a bigger stacked opponent that had them both covered.

Toby Mathews: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Short Stack: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Bigger Stack: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out beautifully for Mathews as the dealer fanned out {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, giving him quads and more than enough to take down the pot.
