Steven McLoughlin raised from the hijack to 18,000 and he was called by Thomas Timmons from the cutoff and Cosmo Andoloro from the button. Small blind Stephen Duvall got his last 120,000 in the middle and the big blind got out of the way.
McLoughlin called but Timmons went into the tank. He let go of his cards and so did Andoloro moments later.
Steven McLoughlin:
Stephen Duvall:
The board ran out and Duvall was eliminated from the tournament.
Travis Williams got his last 59,000 in from middle position, and Filimon Zamora made the call in the big blind.
Travis Williams:
Filimon Zamora:
Williams stood up after the flop gave Zamora a pair of jacks.
"Sit back down," a smiling Zamora told Williams when the peeled off on the turn, leaving Zamora drawing to just two outs to knock Williams out. The river bricked off, and Zamora paid off his debt to Williams.
John Mantouvalos raised to 23,000 from middle position and the player to his direct left, Carlo Argentino, moved his last 88,000 to the middle. It folded back to Mantouvalos and he called after the stack of Argentino was called.
Carlo Argentino:
John Mantouvalos:
The board ran out and Argentino wasn't able to recover from the jack on the flop.
Jorge Ruiz raised to 22,000 from under-the-gun, and Jason Bardol three-bet shoved for 65,000 next to act. Action folded back to Ruiz, who called.
Jorge Ruiz:
Jason Bardol:
Ruiz found a set on the flop, but Bardol picked up four outs when the turn gave him two pair. He failed to improve on the river, and Ruiz continues to climb higher and higher up the chipcounts early on Day 2.
Steve McLoughlin raised to 18,000 from under-the-gun, and was called by Day 1 chip leader Cosmo Andoloro in middle position, Joseph Appler in the small blind, and Jose Zaragota in the big blind.
Appler jammed his last 182,000 in on a flop, and Zaragota and McLoughlin quickly folded. Andoloro tanked for a minute before electing to call.
Cosmo Andoloro:
Joseph Appler:
Appler's set needed to fade Andoloro's open-ended straight draw, and the turn was a safe one.
"King! Eight!" Andoloro said, but the bricked off, sending the big double over to Appler.
