Giuseppe Pantaleo
Giuseppe Pantaleo

Shannon Shorr raised from early position and the action folded around to Giuseppe Pantaleo who was in the big blind.

Pantaleo announced all in and got exactly what he did not want to get, a snap call from Shorr who flipped over the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

"So sick" said Pantaleo as he shook his head in disgust and turned over his dominated {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

The board would bring no surprises as it ran out {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs} to eliminate Pantaleo in 18th place and give Shorr a big stack as we begin play on two remaining tables.

Brett Bader

Daniel Strelitz raised to 40,000 from early position. It folded around the Brett Bader in the hijack who moved all in for about 275,000.

Simon Deadman was next to act on the button. He thought for a while, assessing the players who were still left to act before deciding to make the flat call of the all in.

Both blinds got out of the way, as did Strelitz, the original raiser.

Bader held the lead with the {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} up against Deadman's {q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

But the flop turned the tables when it came the {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Hearts} to ping the king. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and the river {9-Diamonds} did nothing to save Bader's tournament life. as he exited in 17th place.

Mario Hofler Eliminated in 14th Place $(17,460)

Mario Hofler
Mario Hofler

On a flop that read {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} Mario Hofler in the big blind checked the action over to Shannon Shorr who made a bet of 40,000. Hofler called.

The turn was the {4-Clubs}. This time Hofler led with a bet of 100,000 into a pot of 180,000. Shorr considered it for a bit and made the call to swell the pot.

The {q-Clubs} hit the river and Hofler moved all in for his remaining stack of about 300,000.

Shorr thought for several moments, assessing the action of the hand before eventually finding the call.

"Good call" said Hofler as he showed the {q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, which Shorr had beat as he revealed the {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for the winning top pair.

The Austrian walked away in 14th place, taking home $17,460 for his deep run.
