Bicknell Bests Sarmiento

Level 20 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

In a three-bet pot to the {q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop, Steven Sarmiento checked and called a bet of 14,000 by Kristen Bicknell. The {q-Hearts} turn was checked and Sarmiento tank-called a bet of 42,000 on the {10-Hearts} river. Bicknell showed {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and that won the pot.

Sarmiento moved all in blind the next hand and Bicknell folded. Two hands later the remainder of Sarmiento's stack were in with {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Bicknell turned over the {q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. The {7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} board gave Bicknell a pair of treys and that saw the Canadian advance to the round of 32.

Brian Rast

After a couple of raises, Kane Kalas was all in for his last 45,000 chips and was called by Brian Rast. Kalas turned over {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} but was in rough shape against Rast's {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} to give both players a pair of aces but Rast's kicker was still out front. The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and the river was the {6-Spades} to send Kalas to the rail and Rast advanced.

Hellmuth and Schemion in the Lead

Level 21 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Phil Hellmuth has lost some pots and then pulled further ahead once more in the duel with Jason McConnon. The Brit limped and called a raise to 18,000 by Hellmuth. The {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop was checked and the {k-Spades} turn brought a check of McConnon, a bet of 21,000 by Hellmuth and a fold.

One table over, the next fierce heads up duel continues as well.

In a min-raised pot to the {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Ole Schemion check-called a bet of 8,000 by Thomas Boivin and did so again for 20,000 on the {a-Diamonds} turn. They checked the {8-Clubs} river and Schemion tabled {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} as the winning hand.

Schemion Defeats Boivin

Level 21 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

With 60,000 in the middle and the completed board showing {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{q-Spades}{7-Clubs}, Ole Schemion and Thomas Boivin got their stacks in the middle. Schemion turned over {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} for the nut flush and Boivin only had {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} for the inferior flush.

"Good game, I guess?" Schemion said and the stacks were counted. Schemion had 102,300 and Boivin was covered to bow out. Schemion will have a short break before taking on his match in the round of 32.
