Extra Day of Event #25: $600 Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack Starts at Noon

WSOP Bracelet
WSOP Bracelet

An extra day of PLO action is required to find a winner in Event #25: $600 Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack at the 2019 World Series of Poker as twelve people remain to battle for the bracelet. The tournament attracted a total of 2,577 entries which generated a prize pool of $1,352,925 and the first-place prize of $205,605. All twelve players still in the tournament are guaranteed to take home at least $13,212, but they'll all be desperate to add a WSOP bracelet in this event to their collection.

Corey Wright ended Day 1 of the tournament on top of the leaderboard with 215 players remaining and he held on to the top spot when there were twelve players remaining, albeit after a slow start and a fast finish to the previous day's play. Either way, Wright still leads the tournament with an impressive 16,025,000 which is roughly two-and-a-half times the average chip stack of 6.4 million. Wright's biggest recorded live tournament cash was a little over $6,000 and he has already doubled that. If he manages to secure at least one pay jump he will more than double his entire recorded lifetime earnings.

Tom Franklin is the only bracelet winner left in the tournament. The 'Captain' won a $2,500 Limit Omaha bracelet exactly twenty years ago and he could add a second piece of WSOP jewelry to that today by beating the other 11 players. Franklin bagged a stack of 9,150,000 and sits third on the leaderboard.

Players will continue in level 36 with blinds standing at 250,000 and 500,000. The average chip stack is just under 13 big blinds and levels will last 40 minutes. The will have a small break after every three levels and there might be a dinner break but that depends on how many players will be left.

PokerNews will be right there to provide you with live coverage until a bracelet is awarded today.

It folded to Florian Fuchs in the small blind and he potted to 1,500,000. Big blind Cheli Lin put all of his chips in the middle which was about 2,700,000 and Fuchs called quickly.

Cheli Lin: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Florian Fuchs: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

The dealer dealt a {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop and Lin's friends were rooting for an ace. The turn was the {a-Clubs} and his friends cheered, only to realize moments later that Fuchs had hit his flush. The river was the {j-Hearts} and Lin was eliminated from the tournament in 12th place, cashing for $13,212.

Corey Wright raised to 1,000,000 on the button, Eric Sain three-bet to 3,500,000 from the small blind, leaving himself not even 2 million behind, and Wright called. On an {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Sain stuck his remaining scraps in and Wright called.

Eric Sain: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Corey Wright: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Sain was miles ahead with the kings and nut flush draw but the {5-Hearts} on the turn was one of the few outs Wright had, improving him to a wheel. The {9-Diamonds} on the river didn't turn it around for Sain, who walked out in 11t place.

While Michael Bartov all in on the other table, Alexander Condon made it 2,100,000 to go and Alexandru Ivan called on the button. Tom Franklin folded the small blind, later claiming to have folded {a-}{a-}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

On the {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, the rest of the money went in.

Alexander Condon: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Alexandru Ivan: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The turn {10-Clubs} and river {q-Clubs} gave Ivan the king-high straight to win and Condon missed out on the final table as well.

It folded to Andrew Donabedian in the cutoff and he bet 2,200,000. Mihai Niste announced pot from the small blind but he didn't have enough to make it to 7,400,000 so he put all his chips in the middle. The dealer counted it out and it turned out to be 7,100,000 and Niste was all-in. Tom Franklin then put his last 5,500,000 in the middle and Donabedian called quickly.

Tom Franklin: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Mihai Niste: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Andrew Donabedian: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Spades}

Franklin called for hearts and he immediately flopped the nut flush when the flop fell {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Neither Donabedian or Niste caught up on the {3-Spades} turn and {7-Diamonds} river but Niste did manage to win the side pot to stay alive with 4 big blinds.

Andrew Donabedian raised to 4,000,000 from the hijack and Alexandru Ivan called from the big blind leaving himself behind with just 2,800,000.

The flop fell {j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Ivan immediately pushed the remainder of his stack to the middle. Donabedian snap-called and opened {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for a pair of aces and a flush draw. Ivan had {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and plenty of outs to hit two pair.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} which took away a ton of his outs and the {6-Diamonds} river sealed the deal for Donabedian who sent Ivan home with $38,051.
