Guilbert Doubles Through Lavrovsky

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Johan Guilbert
Johan Guilbert

Peter Hong raised to 12,000 from the early position and Vladimir Revniaga three-bet to 38,000 in mid-position. Johan Guilbert called in the late position. Action folded to Yan Lavrovsky in the small blind who tanked for a while. In the end, he decided to shove. Hong and Revniaga quickly folded and Guilbert snap-called with the shorter stack.

Johan Guilbert: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Yan Lavrovsky: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades} for Guilbert to hold with the rockets to double up. Lavrovsky got up from his chair but when the stacks were counted out, Guilbert had 295,000 in total, leaving him behind with around four big blinds.

Over on the other tables, Iori Yogo and Abhinav Iyer were eliminated.

Guilbert's Small Bet Doesn't Work Against Hong

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Johan Guilbert opened to 15,000 from under the gun and James Lee called on his left. Peter Hong was in the small blind and made it 52,000 to go. Guilbert and Lee both called to see a flop of {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Hong checked to Guilbert who min-bet 6,000 again. Lee called and Hong had the answer for his small bets. Hong check-raised all in, having everyone at the table covered. Guilbert instantly folded and Lee's hand quickly followed into the muck.

Vonk Can't Hold On Anymore

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Marcel Vonk
Marcel Vonk

Marcel Vonk was down to just 13 big blinds and he pushed all in for 78,000 from under the gun. The action folded around to David Coleman in the small blind who flicked in a call.

David Coleman: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Marcel Vonk: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Coleman was in a dominating position and the flop of {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} changed nothing. The {a-Spades} on the turn left Vonk drawing dead and the {a-Clubs} hit the river for good measure.

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Timothy Miles raised to 15,000 from the hijack and Chris Gregorian called in the cutoff. Yan Lavrovsky shoved from the button for 44,000 and both Miles and Gregorian made the call.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, Miles bet 50,000 and Gregorian let his hand go so the cards could go on their backs.

Yan Lavrovsky: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Timothy Miles: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}

The rest of the board was completed with the {2-Clubs} on the turn and the {6-Clubs} on the river for Miles to stay ahead and eliminate Lavrovsky.

Jeffrey Chang shoved from the small blind for 72,000 and was called by Anatoly Filatov in the big blind.

Jeffrey Chang: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Anatoly Filatov: {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for Chang to hold with the higher hole cards to double up, a fate that wasn't meant for Freek Scholten who was just eliminated on the same table, just before this hand.

Russell Does What Leng Asks For

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Three players saw a flop of {j-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Ryan Leng fired out a bet of 29,000 in early position. Matt Russell called as did David Pham on the button.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and the action checked around to the {j-Hearts} on the river. Leng checked again and Russell tossed in a bet of 88,000. Pham thought for a minute before decided to lay his hand down.

"This is never beating you, right?" Leng sarcastically asked as he flashed {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} before they hit the muck. "I bet you can't show me a worse hand."

Russell flashed {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} to prove Leng wrong and the pot was sent his way.
