Guagenti Can't Get There Against Defending Champ Dobson

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Nick Guagenti got his last chips in on third street and was at risk against Benjamin Dobson.

Nick Guagenti: {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}/{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Benjamin Dobson: {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}/{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Guagenti had a big draw going to the final card, with four to a six low and a gutshot straight draw, and all of his pair outs were live at the moment. Dobson turned his last card over first, and it was the {a-Hearts}, meaning Guagenti now needed a four to win the whole pot, or a low card to chop half the pot. Guagenti peeked at his card, then said "Good game, guys," without tabling it. The dealer rolled over his {k-Clubs}, and he was eliminated.

Dan Shak: {x-}{x-}/{4-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}/{x-}
Jon Turner: {x-}{x-}/{7-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}/{x-}

Shak brought it in with the {4-Spades} then called when Turner completed. Turner bet every street, with Shak calling down the whole way.

"Straight," Turner said, rolling over {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a seven-high straight and a seven low. Shak turned over {5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for two pair, then mucked.

Foxen Doubles Up

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Alex Foxen: {x-}{x-} / {5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Hope Williams: {x-}{x-} {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

Alex Foxen brought in for 300 and Hope Williams completed and put 1,200 in the middle. It folded back to Foxen and he raised, leaving himself with only 2,400 behind.

Foxen caught an ace on fourth and Williams a king. One bet went in but they waited until fifth to get the rest of Foxen's chips in.

Foxen opened up {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and he was drawing to scoop it all. Foxen ended up with {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} / {5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for trips aces and Williams had {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for just ace high without a low hand.

Melrose Fills Up

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Ron Melrose: {x-}{x-}/{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades}/{x-}
Anita Perl: {x-}{x-}/{a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}/{x-}

After a player brought it in with the {3-Hearts}, Melrose completed and Perl raised. Melrose called, then called bets all the way down to seventh street, where he took the lead and bet for the first time. Perl called, and Melrose announced, "Eights-full," before turning up {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Perl tabled {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades} for a defeated aces-up, and Melrose dragged in the pot.

Automatic Shufflers in Play

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

The tournament is down to less than 19 tables which means that they will use the automatic shufflers in the tables from now on. All players are seated at a table with an automatic shuffler so it is an even playing field and players are able to play more hands per level.

Massey More than Triples

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Errol Massey: {x-}{x-} / {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} / {x-}
Nick Guagenti: {x-}{x-} / {6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{x-} / {x-}
Benjamin Dobson: {x-}{x-} / {3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} (folded on fifth)
Phillip Campbell: {x-}{x-} / {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades} (folded on fourth)

Right before the level went up, Errol Massey completed right out of the gate when he put 1,000 in the middle with his {2-Spades}. Nick Guagenti then raised to 2,000 with the {6-Hearts} and he was called by Benjamin Dobson and his {3-Spades}. Phillip Campbell made it three bets with the {a-Diamonds} and he was called by all three players.

Massey put his last 700 in when he paired his deuce and Guagenti added another bet. Dobson called but Campbell got out of the way.

Guagenti put another bet in the middle on fifth and Dobson folded as well. Guagenti opened up {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a pair of fives and Massey had {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for the nut low draw and a pair of deuces. He immediately caught one of the two remaining fives to get to a wheel and Guagenti wasn't able to catch up.

Williams Wins, Table Breaks

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

David Tahajian: {x-}{x-}/{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts}/ (folded on sixth)
Esther Rossi: {x-}{x-}/{8-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}/{x-}
Barbara Enright: {x-}{x-}/{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}/ (folded on fourth)
Hope Williams: {x-}{x-}/{a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}/{x-}

Starting with the action on fourth street, Williams bet, and was called by Tahajian and Rossi, while Enright folded. Williams bet fifth, and both of her opponents called again, but when Williams bet sixth, only Rossi called. Williams bet one last time on seventh, and Rossi called.

"Three sevens," Williams said, tabling {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades}. Rossi mucked, and immediately after, their table broke.
