Welcome to Day 1 of Event #29: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship
At 3 p.m. local time, the mixed game specialists will be back in action at the 2019 World Series of Poker, as Event #29: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship kicks off in the Amazon Tan section at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. It is the third tournament with various game types in rotation and second H.O.R.S.E. event of the festival and Brazil's Murilo Souza won his first bracelet in Event #14: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. just a few days ago.
Five different game types will be played during this tournament and change every orbit: Limit Hold'em, Omaha Hi-Lo, Razz, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo.
Each player will receive 60,000 starting in chips and a total of ten 60-minute levels are scheduled for Day 1 with late registration still open until the start of Day 2, as of which the level duration also increases to 90 minutes each for the remainder of the tournament.
The defending champion of this event is John Hennigan, who won his fifth career bracelet and top prize of $414,692 in a field of 166 entries one year ago. It was a roller coaster final table back then which also included the likes of David "Bakes" Baker, Iraj Parvizi, Randy Ohel and Daniel Zack.
Zack is one of the front runners of the 2019 World Series of Poker Player of the Year leader board and cashed in five events thus far including his maiden bracelet win in Event #6 $2,500 Limit Mixed Triple Draw.
Hold'em and Omaha hands will begin with blinds of 300/500 and limits of 500/1,000, while the three stud games will start with a 100 ante, a 200 bring-in, and the same 500/1,000 limits. There will be a break every two levels and no dinner break on Day 1.
