Lynskey Puts Player on the Hot Seat

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

On a board reading {q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, 2018 Main Event Final 7th place finisher Alex Lynskey put out a bet of 1,000,000 chips, which had his opponent, Fraser MacIntyre, more than covered.

MacIntyre tanked for over two minutes, while talking to and trying to get a read on Lynskey, who sat motionless, staring down at the table.

After MacIntyre asked Lynskey if he'd show if MacIntyre folded and still got no response, MacIntyre tossed his cards towards the muck, which made Lynskey flash a smile as he scooped the pot.

Branchen Down but Not Out

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

After Tony Fung pushed in his remaining stack of 236,000 from the under-the-gun position, it folded around to Clinton Branchen, who three-bet shoved and both blinds folded.

Branchen was ahead preflop with his pair, and needed it to hold against Fung's big suited ace in order to secure the knockout.

Branchen: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Fung: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Fung took the lead on the {q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop, which he maintained on the {7-Diamonds} turn and {4-Diamonds} river, which left Branchen with just 28,000 in chips.

On the very next hand, there was another all-in shove from the under-the-gun player.

It folded around to Branchen, who tossed in his last few chips, and the remaining players folded.

This time Branchen was way ahead.

Branchen:{a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Under-the-Gun Player: {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

The board ran out clean for Branchen and he secured the much-needed double-up.
