Taieb Doubles Just Before the Break

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Action folded to Roger Taieb and he raised to 170,000, which was met by a three-bet from Angela Charles from the next seat over.

After it folded back around to Taieb, he four-bet shoved his remaining stack, and was called by Charles.

Roger Taieb: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Angela Charles: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} board ran out clean for Taieb and secured his double up.

Ruban into Chip Lead

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Ivan Ruban appears to be the first player to have breached the five million chip mark. According to players at his table, he cracked pocket aces of an opponent with ace-jack to move up the chip counts.

This is Ruban's first-ever WSOP cash.

Zhu Goes Back-to-Back To Build a Big Stack

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Jay Zhu was still stacking chips after winning a monster pot when he raised to 80,000 in the next hand.

From the next seat, John Tabago three-bet shoved all in, and when action folded back around to Zhu he made the call.

Jay Zhu: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
John Tabago: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The flop came {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, which gave Tabago a few extra outs, but unfortunately for him, the {2-Clubs} turn and {k-Diamonds} river were not the outs he needed and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Zhu has added even more chips to add to his already-impressive stack.

Madsen Eliminated After River Shove

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Action was on the river between Jeff Madsen and Ivan Ruban. Madsen had around 350,000 behind and moved all in on a {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts} board.

Ruban snap-called and Madsen got to his feet without tabling his hand. The dealer turned over {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and Ruban leaned across the table before tabling {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a flush and taking down the pot, sending Madsen to the exit.
