Paul Lentz
Paul Lentz

Just a few minutes before the first break Paul Lentz was eliminated from the tournament.

Lentz, who final-tabled the original Colossus event, and was in this event on a single entry, relayed the following information.

After losing two big pots, he shoved his remaing chips from under the gun with {a-}{k-}, and it folded around to the big blind, who called with pocket fives, which held and ended Lentz' impressive tournament run.

Burkhard Doubles on Rathi

Level 35 : 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Sandro Burkhard moved all in for 6,700,000 and it folded to Malesh Rathi in the blinds who tanked for a few minutes before making the call.

Burkhard, holding {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}, had to hit the board, facing {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for Rathi. He found a board of {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Spades} that gave him a pair of jacks as well as the double up.

Elharar Triples Up

Level 35 : 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Rafi Elhara shoved all from middle position. Action folded to Henry Mlekoday in the hijack and he asked for a count. Once the dealer confirmed a total of 10,300,000, Mlekoday then announced that he was all in. Ricardo Klaassen then made the call from the button, having both players covered.

Rafi Elharar: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Henry Mlekoday: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Ricardo Klaassen: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}, which secured the triple-up for Elharar and eliminated Mlekoday from the tournament.

Set Versus Set for Christensen

Level 35 : 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Mahesh Rathi opened to 2,000,000 and Morten Christensen announced all in for a stack of 7,100,000. John McAvoy made the call and after some thoughts, Rathi folded his hand.

John McAvoy: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Morten Christensen: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The flop came {7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, giving both players a set, followed by {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and the pot was sent to Christensen. McAvoy said, "We would have been all in on the flop anyway".

"All-in and a Call!"

Level 35 : 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante
Aaron Frei
Aaron Frei

"All-in and a call!" is the most commonly heard noise coming from the Amazon Gold section, as chips are flying everywhere during these undeep stages. Mahesh Rathi was one of those guys going for it, and he shoved all in for 4,700,000 over an under-the-gun raise.

Sandro Burkhard four-bet to 12,000,000 from middle position and the intial raiser gave it up.

Mahesh Rathi: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Sandro Burkhard: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

A board of {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts} was fanned out and a gloating Rathi, who lost an all-in to Burkhard earlier today, raked in the pot.

At the same time at an adjacent table, Steven Vargas moved in with the {a-}{3-} and received a call from big blind Peter Mylenki with {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, who flopped a queen to rail Vargas. Giancarlo Gallego joined Vargas not long after when his {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} failed to improve against Aaron Frei's {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} in a 13M pot, sending the MSPT champ up to 60M in the process.
