Howard Bluffs a Bit Off

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

In the big blind, Wojtek Barzantny checked with 300,000 or so in the pot and {6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} on the felt. Nicholas Howard bet 180,000 and Barzantny tanked about a minute then called.

Howard showed {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for king-high and Barzantny had him beat with {9-Spades}{5-Spades}.

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Josh Weiss

Raul Martinez raised to 80,000 from the cutoff, then called a three-bet shove for 215,000 from Josh Weiss in the small blind.

Josh Weiss: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Raul Martinez: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}

Weiss hit a queen on the {q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop, but Martinez paired his six on the {6-Hearts} turn to give himself a few more outs to eliminate Weiss. The {j-Clubs} river was a brick, and Weiss doubled up again.

Barzantny Doubles Through Guillen

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Wojtek Barzantny shoved all in first to act for 585,000. Angel Guillen reshipped to isolate. Upeshka De Silva asked for a count from the big blind but laughed and mucked, saying he was kidding, after Guillen looked down to count his stack.

Guillen had the best of it with {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} against {a-Spades}{2-Spades}. The {2-Hearts} window card was a welcome sight for Barzantny but it was followed by {3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. The {9-Clubs} turn was a brick but the {a-Diamonds} river brought two pair for Barzantny.

Demosthenes Kiriopoulos limped in from the small blind, and Thomas Cazayous checked his option in the big blind.

The {7-Diamonds} put four to a flush on board, and Kiriopoulos checked. Cazayous bet 225,000 and Kiriopoulos folded after some thought.

Paul Pires Trigo
Paul Pires Trigo

Paul Pires Trigo jammed for 250,000 and Angel Guillen called in the small blind with {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Trigo was dominated with {a-Spades}{5-Spades}. The {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{j-Spades} flop improved both players, but the sweat was short as the {j-Clubs} turn locked it in for Guillen, short of a chop. The river was a {7-Clubs}.
