Obst Eliminates Lewis on Bubble

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Toby Lewis
Toby Lewis

The tournament supervisor began calling out the procedure for hand-for-hand, but players at one table waved their arms and stopped him. There was still one hand playing out at the edge of the tournament area, and Toby Lewis was considering calling all in.

James Obst had set him in from the big blind for about 45,000 and Lewis stuck his chips in.

Toby Lewis: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
James Obst: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, no sweat for Obst, and Lewis hit the rail to negate the need for hand-for-hand play.

D'Ambrosio Folds to Loosli's Shove

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

In a pot of around 15,000 and on a board reading {a-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, Sylvain Loosli checked from the hijack and Jimmy D'ambrosio, on the cutoff, bet 11,500. Loosli responded by check-raising all in for about 62,000. His opponent thought for a long while, but decided to give up his hand.

Timofeev Eliminated

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Denis Timofeev opened in the cutoff for 4,500, Danny Tang called and Nicholas Howard made it 16,500 in the small blind. Timofeev jammed for around 90,000, Tang folded and Howard snap-called with {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

Timofeev was dominated with {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and found no salvation on the {4-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} runout.

Heath Eliminates Papazyan

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Art Papazyan checked the turn out of the big blind on {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Ben Heath set him in for about 20,000 into a pot of around 30,000 and Papazyan quickly called it off with {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for top pair. He was behind though, as Heath held {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for turned two pair. The river was a {10-Spades} and Heath called out a "GG."

Rabinowitz Doubles Through Lee

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Darren Rabinowitz: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Calvin Lee: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The runout was {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Rabinowitz doubled up.

Roberts Coolered, Busted

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Brent Roberts defended his big blind from a Thomas Cazayous open. After unknown flop action, Roberts got his remaining 50,000 or so in on {10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades} with {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for two pair. Unfortunately for him, Cazayous had him pipped with {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for better kings up. The {10-Spades} river confirmed the elimination of Roberts, and the tournament is now a few spots from the money bubble.

Plesuv Folds to Pecheux

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Pavel Plesuv
Pavel Plesuv

Pavel Plesuv raised to 4,000 on the cutoff and Erwann Pecheux three-bet to 12,000 from the button. Action folded back to Plesuv who added the remainder to call.

A flop reading {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} was dealt and Plesuv checked. Pecheux threw in a bet of 10,000 and Plesuv check-called.

The turn brought the {a-Diamonds} and was checked through to the {3-Clubs} river. Plesuv checked once more and Pecheux fired 35,000. Plesuv, with only 40,000 behind, went deep into the tank for a few minutes, staring at Pecheux, but eventually opted to let it go.
