Good Turn, Bad River for Klodnicki

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

In a single-raised pot, Chris Klodnicki, Adam Friedman, and Matthew Schreiber made it to the {7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades} flop. Klodnicki continued for 16,000 and Friedman raised to 43,000 on his left. Schreiber folded on the button and Klodnicki matched the price.

The {9-Clubs} fell on the turn and Klodnicki checked. Friedman asked his opponent how much did he play and the answer was just under 200,000. Friedman checked back.

The river card was the {a-Spades} and Klodnicki bet 40,000. Friedman called and Klodnicki showed {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for air on the flop but a turned second pair. Friedman, however, hit the ace on the river and took it down with {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}.
