Patrick Leonard Eliminated in 9th Place ($15,897)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
Patrick Leonard
Patrick Leonard

Patrick Leonard opened from under the gun, Joseph Aronesty pushed in three bets in late position and Leonard called to see the {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop.

Leonard checked to Aronesty, he fired in a bet and Leonard instantly called. The {4-Hearts} hit the felt as a turn card, action checked to Aronesty who pushed in enough to cover his opponent.

Leonard called for his remaining stack and the two turned over their hands. Leonard tabled {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a pair of aces with an eight low draw and would be drawing to just the low when Aronesty showed {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a flopped full house. The {9-Hearts} came on the river and there would be no low for Leonard as he was sent packing by Aronesty's full house in 9th place.

McMaster Doubles Up Aronesty

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 0 ante
Derek McMaster
Derek McMaster

Joseph Aronesty just had to fade a ton of outs to avoid elimination. He did so on the {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} board when the river was the {10-Hearts}.

Aronesty was playing {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades} while Derek McMaster put him at risk of elimination with {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

Aronesty managed to stay alive in the tournament while McMaster lost a bit of chips without losing his cheerful personality.
