Out of the 200 players who returned for Day 2 action in Event #40: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha, just 21 remain ten levels later. Leading the way is Denis Bagdasarov, who managed to claim the chiplead on the very last hand of the day, busting Rocco Scalmato and Peyman Ahmadi in a three-way all in preflop to reach a stack of 3,035,000.

Closely behind him stands Glen Cressman with 2,910,000, Johannes Toebbe (2,905,000) and the two-time bracelet winner Benjamin Zamani with 2,900,000.

With several experienced players still in contention, the path to victory won't be an easy one for anybody. Many bracelet winners are still in the run such as Steve Sung (1,450,000), Norbert Szecsi (665,000), owner of two gold bracelets including one in a Mixed PLO/NLHE event at the WSOPE in 2018, and Ayaz Mahmood (1,075,000) are also still in the hunt for the $298,507 top prize and coveted gold bracelet.

Not all of the familiar faces who returned for Day 2 action were lucky enough to survive to the end. It was Barny Boatman who fell at the unfortunate place of bubble boy, being eliminated by Mike Matusow. On a raised pot, the flop read {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} when Matusow pushed all in and Boatman snap-called.

Matusow, holding {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, had Boatman's {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} crushed and the {a-Spades} turn and {5-Spades} river fell to bust Boatman right before the money.

Erik Seidel, amongst the biggest stack at the beginning of the day, busted at the 82th pace for $2,991. He was followed by Mark Radoja, also among the fan favorites on Day 2 who ended 47th for $5,083 and Mike Matusow in 45th place for $6,020. Rami Boukai (44th -$6,020), Steven Wolansky (50th - $5,083), Scott Bohlman (85th -$2,991) and Loren Klein (100th - $2,512) all left with parting gifts, as well.

Day 3 action will begin Wednesday, June 19 at noon local time. The plan is to play down to a winner. Keep it here for continuing coverage of the event and throughout the 2019 World Series of Poker from the PokerNews Live Reporting team.
