Liedkte Takes More to Levi

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Shahar Levi, chipleader at the beginning of the day, just lost the majority of his stack in a few hands against Mark Liedtke.

On the last hand, Liedtke opened in the cutoff to 15,000 and Levi made the call. The flop came {2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Liedtke check-called a bet from Levi for 27,000. The same action happened on the turn {2-Spades}, this time for 38,000.

The river fell a {q-Diamonds} and both players checked. Liedtke tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for two pair and Levi sent his cards into the muck.

Normand Eliminates Castelluccio

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

The {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop was already on the board and Scott Castelluccio put his last chips in the middle against Frederic Normand. Normand was behind with {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} against the {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} of Castelluccio.

The turn was the {j-Hearts} and Castelluccio was calling for low cards but the river was the {q-Diamonds} and Normand won the pot with just a pair of queens.

Boatman Bubbles

Barny Boatman in a previous event
Barny Boatman in a previous event

Barny Boatman limped under the gun when they were on the money bubble and action folded to small blind Mike Matusow. Matusow raised to 24,000 and Boatman was up when Kenny Hallaert folded. Boatman ended up calling after he thought about it for a while.

The {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop was dealt and Matusow pushed all in. Boatman almost beat him into the pot. They had to wait until all other hands had completed before they continued.

Matusow then opened up {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and he had Boatman's {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} crushed.

The dealer dealt an {a-Spades} turn and the {5-Spades} river to end Boatman his tournament on the bubble. The other players are guaranteed to win at least $2,248.

Hallaert Doubles on Matusow

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Mike Matusow opened to 11,500 and after some thoughts, Kenny Hallaert three-bet to 42,000. It folded back to Matusow who called.

Things heated on the flop {j-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Matusow tossed a pile of 5,000 chips in front of him, putting Hallaert at risk for his last 22,500 and the latter snap-called.

Kenny Hallaert: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Mike Matusow: {9-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The rest of the board fell {j-Clubs} and {k-Spades} and Halalert's pair of aces held to give him the double up.
