Ray Henson checked on the final betting round, and Julien Martini fired out a bet. Both players eventually got all of the chips in, and in the end it was Henson taking down the pot and chipping up to 81,000 with a seven-low.

Martini, who was left barely hanging on for his tournament life, complimented Henson for playing the hand perfectly.

With the board reading {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, Brandon Shack-Harris checked from the small blind and Loren Klein, directly to Shack-Harris' left, fired 7,500 into around 15,000. Shack-Harris thought for a while and then called.

Klein rolled over {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for three jacks and Shack-Harris mucked, saying, "Nice hand."

Jameson Painter raised to 2,000 under the gun and he received three calls as Phil Hellmuth joined from the button and Josh Pollock and Dzmitry Urbanovich peeled the flop from the blinds.

The {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop was checked and Painter fired 8,800 on the {j-Spades} turn. Hellmuth and Pollock folded but Urbanovich shoved for 17,000. Painter called off.

Day 2 of Event #43: $2,500 Mixed Big Bet gets underway today with the day’s action scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Just 52 players from the original field of 218 returns for today’s restart, as the opening day of this event saw lots of action and rapid eliminations.

Play is scheduled for 10 1-hour levels today, beginning with Level 11. The blinds start at 400-800 for no-limit five card draw and no-limit 2-7 lowball draw, and 300-600 for all of the other variants in the mixed-game event.

Jonathan Depa (171,600) emerged as the end of Day 1 chip leader, followed by Jared Bleznick (149,900) and Arthur Morris (137,000). WSOP bracelet winners like Ryan Hughes (131,900), David “Bakes” Baker (94,900), Brandon Shack-Harris (87,500), Mike Sexton (86,900), Chris “Jesus” Ferguson (85,900), David Benyamine (85,500) and David Williams (85,500) are all still in the mix as well.

With such a loaded field, the road to the bracelet will be tough. This event is scheduled for a full day of poker today, and today’s surviving players will come back Thursday and play down to a winner. Scott Bohlman (63,500), last year’s champion in this event, is still in the running for back-to-back championships in this event, and along with the rest of the field is gunning for the bracelet and the $127,808 first-place prize.
