Limited Action After Dinner

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Matthew Gonzales got some chips back and Alex Epstein then won two small pots. One of them was against Ryan Tosoc when Epstein raised the button to 300,000 and picked up a call by Tosoc in the big blind. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades} and Tosoc check-folded to a bet of 225,000.

Two hands later, James Chen raised to 250,000 first to act and Robert Mizrachi called, as did Tosoc on the button and Erik Seidel in the big blind. The {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop was checked by Seidel, Chen continued for 500,000 and two folds followed.

Tosoc then raised to 420,000 in the cutoff and Chen called in the big blind. "I have around 650 behind, maybe a bit more," Tosoc said before the flop brought {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Chen checked and Tosoc bet all his remaining T-25,000 chips to force a fold from Chen.

"Bigger Flush" for Epstein

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante
Alex Epstein
Alex Epstein

James Chen opened to 250,000 and picked up calls from Robert Mizrachi in the cutoff, Matthew Gonzales in the small blind and Alex Epstein in the big blind. The {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop was checked to Mizrachi, who bet 325,000. Gonzales and Epstein both called, while Chen quickly got out of the way.

No betting action took place on the {4-Diamonds} turn and {7-Clubs} river and Gonzales announced a flush.

"Bigger flush," Epstein replied and rolled over his {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Mizrachi mucked, as did Gonzales.

Mizrachi Shoves on Epstein

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Erik Seidel opened to 250,000 and got calls from Robert Mizrachi in middle position and Alex Epstein on the button.

The flop was {8-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and it checked to Epstein who bet 450,000. Mizrachi was the only caller.

The turn was the {9-Hearts}. Mizrachi checked and Epstein bet 900,000. Mizrachi check-raised all in and Epstein open-folded {q-}{q-} allowing Mizrachi to take down the pot.

Lau Pays Off Chen

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante
James Chen
James Chen

Alex Epstein recovered some chips when he raised the cutoff to 300,000 and was called by Wasim Korkis on the button and Ka Kwan Lau in the big blind. The {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop was checked to Epstein and he bet 450,000 to shut down all further resistance.

James Chen then raised to 250,000 first to act and Erik Seidel came along out of the big blind. Seidel check-called 150,000 on {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, the {7-Diamonds} turn was checked and Seidel bet the {j-Hearts} river to force an instant fold from Chen.

Lau raised the button to 270,000 next and Chen called out of the big blind. The flop brought {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Chen checked, then called a bet of 175,000. No betting action took place on the {9-Spades} turn and Chen led the {k-Hearts} river for 650,000. Lau called rather quickly and was shown the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades} for a flopped full house by Chen.

Lau vs Chidwick in Back-to-Back Pots

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened and Ka Kwan Lau called in the cutoff. Chidwick check-called 225,000 on the {10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop but check-folded to a bet of 700,000 on the turn.

On the very next hand, Lau limped and Chidwick checked his big blind. However, on the {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop all it took was a bet of 200,000 for Chidwick to check-fold to his opponent.

Chidwick Bests Epstein

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Alex Epstein raised it up to 300,000 from under the gun and Stephen Chidwick called in the small blind. They checked the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop and {j-Spades} turn. On the {10-Hearts} river, Chidwick bet 500,000 and Epstein instantly tossed in a single chip for the call.

Chidwick rolled over {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a full house and Epstein mucked {a-}{10-}{x-}{x-}.

Korkis Doubles Through Lau

Level 28 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante

Wasim Korkis raised pot from the button. Ryan Tosoc folded his small blind and Ka Kwan Lau three-bet pot to 1,820,000 from the big blind. Korkis called and was all in for 1,605,000.

Wasim Korkis: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Ka Kwan Lau: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

"Action flop," remarked Alex Epstein, but the turn {10-Clubs} improved Korkis to a full house. "What the fuck's that about?" said Epstein.

The river was the {6-Clubs} and Korkis doubled up.

Ryan Tosoc Eliminated in 9th Place ($116,656)

Level 28 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante
Ryan Tosoc
Ryan Tosoc

Ryan Tosoc raised to 440,000 with around 650,000 behind and Stephen Chidwick in the big blind double-checked the stack size of Tosoc before making the call. On the {q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, Chidwick checked and called the shove of Tosoc to set up the following showdown.

Ryan Tosoc: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Stephen Chidwick: {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

Chidwick was in the lead with his pair of queens and Tosoc needed an ace or back door spades and straight cards to remain in contention. Instead, the {6-Clubs} turn left him drawing dead and he tapped the table in defeat. A meaningless {a-Hearts} came on the river and Tosoc grabbed his belongings to head to the payout desk and collect $116,656 for his efforts.

Level 28 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante
Ka Kwan Lau
Ka Kwan Lau

Ka Kwan Lau raised to 560,000 and Alex Epstein defended his big blind.

The flop came {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Epstein check-jammed with Lau calling.

Ka Kwan Lau: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Alex Epstein: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

"Too many outs?" asked Epstein who held straight and flush draws.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} but the river {a-Diamonds} improved him to a flush and sent Lau to the rail.
