Tollerene Gets Short

Level 25 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Stephen Chidwick defended his big blind against a raise by Alex Epstein and they checked the {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop. Chidwick bet the {2-Diamonds} turn for 240,000 and Epstein called before the {k-Clubs} river was checked. Chidwick tabled {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} for two pair and won the pot.

Epstein got the chips back soon after when he raised the button to 200,000. Wasim Korkis and Ben Tollerene in the blinds came along and they checked the {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} flop to Epstein, who bet 175,000 and forced two folds.

Tollerene dropped to around 450,000 and then raised the pot twice to build his short stack again.

Seidel Doubles Through Chen

Level 25 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

James Chen raised first to act to 240,000 and Erik Seidel defended the big blind. On a {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, Seidel checked and Chen continued for 240,000. After some consideration, Seidel announced pot and slid forward a raise to 1,000,000.

Some discussion broke out on the table on how much the check-raise could be, which happened to be 1,200,000, and Chen eventually shrugged and tossed in the chips.

Technically, Seidel was not all in yet but they tabled their cards anyway.

Erik Seidel: {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
James Chen: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

The {2-Clubs} turn and {10-Hearts} river were no threat and Seidel doubled his stack of 1,290,000 to put a dent into Chen's steamrolling performance as of lately.

Level 25 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Veselin Karakitukov opened to 180,000 and got called by Alex Epstein. Wasim Korkis was on the button and raised to 800,000. Karakitukov folded and Epstein called.

On a {2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop Epstein checked, but snap-folded to another pot-sized bet from Korkis.

Veselin Karakitukov Eliminated in 12th Place ($92,102)

Veselin Karakitukov

Veselin Karakitukov was left with under ten big blinds after the last hand and he got it with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} against the {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} of Alex Epstein.

Epstein flopped a flush draw on {3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. The turn {9-Diamonds} gave Karakitukov straight and flush draws also, but the {q-Clubs} river completed Epstein's flush and Karakitukov was eliminated.

Ben Tollerene Eliminated in 11th Place ($92,102)

Level 25 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
Ben Tollerene
Ben Tollerene

Alex Epstein raised the button to 200,000 and Ben Tollerene got his stack of 650,000 in from the big blind. Epstein glanced over his shoulder to check the tournament info screen, shrugged and made the call.

Ben Tollerene: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Alex Epstein: {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

While Tollerene hit top two on the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, Epstein had picked up the nut flush draw. Sure enough, the {2-Hearts} followed on the turn and Tollerene was in need of an ace or king. The {4-Clubs} river was a blank and Epstein scored the second knockout in quick succession.

"I am on team get there," Epstein said in table chat while he raked in the pot. Tollerene was eliminated in 11th place for $92,102 and the field will combine to one table once they have nine players remaining.

Gonzales Doubles Through Epstein

Level 25 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened to 180,000 and Alex Epstein three-bet to 600,000. Matthew Gonzales tanked and then was all in for 920,000. Chidwick folded and Epstein called.

Alex Epstein: {4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Matthew Gonzales: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The flop {2-Spades}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} gave Gonzales both straight and flush draws in addition to his aces. The turn was the {3-Spades} and the river the {7-Clubs} as Gonzales doubled up.

Lau Takes From Mizrachi

Level 25 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Ka Kwan Lau and Robert Mizrachi had tangled in several smaller pots after the two table redraw and Lau came out on top of the latest confrontation.

Both invested 240,000 in a battle of the blinds to see the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop on which Mizrachi checked and folded to a bet of 200,000.

James Chen then chopped with Mizrachi when they both had ace-king on a board of {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Spades} to see Mizrachi drop below three million in chips.

Mizrachi Extracts Value From Seidel

Level 26 : 50,000/100,000, 0 ante

In a battle cutoff versus big blind, Robert Mizrachi and Erik Seidel headed to the {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} river and Seidel led for 250,000 into a pot of around 600,000. Mizrachi raised it up to 1,100,000 and Seidel called after some consideration.

Mizrachi turned over {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for a flush and that won the pot to send Seidel back towards the shorter stacks.

Esther Taylor Eliminated in 10th Place ($116,656)

Level 26 : 50,000/100,000, 0 ante
Esther Taylor
Esther Taylor

Esther Taylor made it 350,000 from under the gun and James Chen flat-called on the button. Taylor jammed for her remaining 480,000 on the {6-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop.

"I'm not loving it..." said Chen but called with {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{a-Spades}{3-Hearts}

Taylor held {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for an open-ended straight draw but the {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds} runout bricked and Chen's nines held to send the 2017 third-place finisher in this event to the rail in 10th place.
