Li Cracks the One Million Barrier

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

With around 80,000 in the middle and the board reading {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Baitai Li stuck in a bet of 50,000 from the hijack. Alexandre Mantovani called on the button and the {10-Clubs} landed on the river.

Li reached back for another bet of 120,000 and Mantovani let his hand go. Li turned over {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a straight up bluff and Mantovani knuckled the table.

"There. You got your answer," another player at the table said to Mantovani who just joined the table. "He wins if he has the nuts and he wins if he's bluffing."

Cohen Runs Into Filatov's Aces

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Anatoly Filatov from a previous event
Anatoly Filatov from a previous event

Sam Cohen opened to 12,000 in early position and Anatoly Filatov put in a three-bet to 37,000. The action was back on Cohen who shipped all in for 228,000 and Filatov quickly called.

Anatoly Filatov: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Sam Cohen: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Filatov held a commanding lead but the flop of {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades} gave Cohen a few outs. Filatov took out his phone to start filming in case something drastic happened, but the {5-Hearts},{8-Diamonds} runout brought no drama which sent Cohen to the rail.

Hallaert Spikes a One-Outer

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

It was unsure if all of the chips got in the middle preflop or on the flop, but either way Kenny Hallaert and Carlos Padilla had two monster hands to table.

Carlos Padilla: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Kenny Hallaert: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The flop of {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} was spread across the felt and it was Padila who was at risk for around 220,000. The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and the river brought the {k-Hearts}. Hallaert spiked one of his outs on the river to eliminate Padilla. Shortly after, Hallaert's neighbor let him know that he folded a king as well.

Bicknell Outkicks Arieh; He Promptly Kicks Out Someone Else

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Kristen Bicknell
Kristen Bicknell

Kristen Bicknell raised preflop in late position to 11,000, then called when small blind Josh Arieh made it 33,000.

Flop: {6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{a-Spades}. Arieh led out for 24,000 and Bicknell made the call. Both players checked through the {k-Clubs} turn and {q-Spades} river and it was a battle of the aces at showdown, Bicknell's {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} beating Arieh's {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

The very next hand, Arieh eliminated a short stacked player who'd moved in on the flop with a vulnerable made hand, saying "let's gamble" with a flush and gutshot draw and binking the latter to replenish the chips Bicknell took the hand prior.

Yu Finds a Double Up from the Big Blind

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

The action folded around to Michael Bailey who raised it up on the button. Ben Yu was in the big blind and the two players quickly got all of the chips in the middle preflop with Yu at risk for 134,000.

Ben Yu: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Michael Bailey: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The flop fell {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Yu remained out front with an overpair. The {2-Hearts} on the turn changed nothing and the {k-Spades} on the river ensured Yu of a double up.

Abarzuza Bets With and Without It

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

A three-way hand had made it to the turn after a non-bet flop, the board now {k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. Baitai Li and one other player checked to Oihan Abarzuza, who bet 8,500 which was called by both out-of-position opponents. The final community card came the {j-Diamonds} and again there were two checks to Abarzuza. He put in a bet of 35,000. Li leaned forward peering at the board for a few seconds, then threw his hand away, but the third player made the call.

Abarzuza showed down {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the nuts - a broadway straight and his caller mucked his hand with a headshake indicative of rivering.
