Haxton Takes from Smith

Level 2 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Isaac Haxton raised to 4,000 from early position and Dan Smith defended his big blind to see a {7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{a-Hearts} flop. Smith check-called a bet of 3,000 and then action went check-check on the {q-Spades} turn.

When the {4-Spades} completed the board on the river, Smith led out for 5,000 and Haxton announced a raise. Before he could even drop in raising chips Smith flicked his hand to the muck.

Kempe Essentially Shoves on Snead

Level 2 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Sam Snead raised to 5,000 under the gun and Rainer Kempe called from the small blind. The {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop saw Kempe check and Snead continue for 11,000.

Kempe then woke up with a check-raise to 42,000 and Snead called to see the {5-Hearts} turn. Kempe bet 70,000 but he couldn't shake Snead, who called to see the {3-Clubs} river.

Kempe bet approximately 175,000 and left himself a single T1,000 chip back. It did the trick as Snead released his hand.

Boat No Good for Peters

Level 2 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Ricky Guan
Ricky Guan

Ricky Guan was under the gun and checked on {8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{3-Spades}. David Peters was in the cutoff and bet 18,000, a little under the pot, and Guan called. On the {a-Clubs} river, Peters bet large with an overbet of 100,000. Guan quickly called, and Peters tabled {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for a boat.

Guan had him beat though, showing {a-}{3-}.

Imsirovic Scores Third Knockout in Early Going

Level 2 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Ali Imsirovic and Chance Kornuth had been battling over a few hands before things ignited.

It began when Kornuth raised from middle position to 4,000 and Imsirovic three-bet him to 14,000 from the hijack. Not to be outdone, Kornuth four-bet to 38,000 and Imsirovic just called to see the {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop.

Kornuth bet 25,000, Imsirovic called, and the {2-Hearts} appeared on the turn.

Kornuth jammed for his last 115,000 and Imsirovic wasted little time in making the call.

Chance Kornuth: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Ali Imsirovic: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Kornuth was looking for one of the two remaining queens left in the deck, but it wasn't in the cards as the {6-Diamonds} paired the board on the river.

Peters Doubles Through Smith

Level 2 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
David Peters
David Peters

Dan Smith opened for 3,500 in middle position and David Peters made it a three-bet from the blinds to an unknown amount with four T5,000 chips. Smith came back with 45,000 and Peters peeled, with both players checking to a board of {5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{a-Clubs}. At that point, Peters check-called 38,000. On the {2-Spades} river, Peters checked and called fairly quickly when Smith set him in for about 150,000 effective.

Smith tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for top-top but Peters had two pair with {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

The Rich Get Richer

Level 2 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Chance Kornuth and Ali Imsirovic
Chance Kornuth and Ali Imsirovic

Chance Kornuth opened for 4,000 from the cutoff and Ali Imsirovic called from the button. Farid Jattin came along from the big blind and it was three-way action to the {k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop.

Jattin checked, Kornuth bet 8,000, and only Imsirovic called to see the {9-Clubs} turn.

Both players checked and the {8-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. Kornuth bet big to 45,000 and Imsirovic paused for a bit before making the call.

Kornuth showed the {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a missed flush draw that turned into a rivered pair of eights, and then Imsirovic rolled over the winner with the {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for top pair.

"What a nit roll," Kornuth joked.
