Sander Eliminated, No Longer the Bubble Boy

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Yesterday Amit Sander was sweating out his short stack on the money bubble as he recalled his story of how he was the bubble boy earlier this WSOP in Event 4: $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better and was dreading having the same fate in this tournament.

Fortunately for him he more than made the money and survived until today where he was just eliminated in a very respectable top 60 finish amongst some of the biggest names in the game.

Jimenez Takes From Seiken

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Adrian Jimenez just won a decent pot after making the correct call on the river. The completed board read {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Nicholas Seiken had lead for 180,000, which Jimenez tank-called. He turned over trip tens with {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} in the hole and it was good to win him the chips.

Zinno Zooming

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

With a flop that read {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Hearts} Rafael Caiaffa was deep in the tank considering a bet made by Anthony Zinno. He thought about it for quite a while until clock was called. The floor came over and Caiaffa put himself all in which was called by Zinno.

Caiaffa turned over {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} while Zinno had {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{2-Hearts} the run out was the {9-Spades} and the {9-Clubs} to give Zinno the winning full boat and eliminate Caiaffa while Zinno's stack zoomed up the leaderboard.

Johnson Survives

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Paul Johnson started the day as one of the shorter stacks and had dropped down in the counts during the first level of play. He got the last of it in preflop and after two calls from David Prociak and Tim Seidensticker, Jeremy Harkin three-bet pot for 358,000. It was enough to get Prociak and Seidensticker to fold and Johnson netted 75% of the pot by the end of the hand, keeping him in contention.

On a board that read {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} Adrian Jimenez bet 160,000 which was called by James Chen. Jimenez revealed {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} which took the pot.

Norton Doubles Through Henson

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

The turn was out on a {4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{q-Diamonds} board and Brian Norton checked to Raymond Henson who bet 50,000. Back on Norton and he raised 206,000 all in, which sent Henson into the tank. After a minute or so he called and when the cards were turned over, it was the correct decision, with a pair of kings and a flush draw versus Norton's pair of jacks.

Brian Norton: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Raymond Henson: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

The river was another {10-Diamonds} and Norton took the pot with trip tens, whilst Henson took the hit.

Spurlin Spills Norton

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

From the big blind, Jordan Spurlin raised to 160,000 pre-flop and was called by Brian Norton. The flop came {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Spurlin fired again for a substantial amount of 330,000. Norton raised to put himself virtually all in and Spurlin upped it to put Norton's final couple of chips into the middle.

Norton was ahead as he held {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} up against the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Clubs} of Spurlin. But the run out would be brutal to Norton as it came the {10-Spades} on the turn and the {10-Clubs} on the river to give Spurlin a huge chip boon.
