Numerous Bracelet Winners Still Alive as Day 2 of Event #61: $400 COLOSSUS No-Limit Hold'em Starts Today
The 2019 World Series of Poker kicked-off the summer with The Big 50 shattering the tournament field record and Event #61: $400 COLOSSUS No-Limit Hold'em tournament found its way into the record books as well. The fifth installment of the COLOSSUS saw another record-breaking field with 13,109 total entries coming off of two Day 1 flights. Both starting days were scheduled to play through 16 levels of action but it was announced that players were playing down to the money. Each flight would end two-levels later with the bubble boy being eliminated, guaranteeing the 1,948 returning players a minimum cash of $600.
Leading the pack into Day 2 is Romik Vartzar who bagged an outstanding 2,170,000 in chips at the end of Day 1b. Vartzar was the only player in the massive field to surpass two million in chips, but there were a handful of players that accumulated over one million chips, John Goyette (1,435,000), Hien Tran (1,152,000), Kyle Shaw (1,130,000), Ian Steinman (1,127,000), Julian Manolio (1,095,000), and Amador Trinidad (1,012,000). Once the players take their seats,19% of the 1,948 players will begin their day with double the 269,179 chip average.

Day 2 will start today at 11:00 a.m. local time and players will pick up action from level 19 where blinds are 5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 big blind ante. Players are scheduled to finish 15 levels of play with each level being 40 minutes long. Players will receive a 15-minute break after every 3 levels with a 60-minute dinner break coming after the ninth level.
