Bunch Takes From Riess

Level 18 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

John Bunch opened with a bet of 7,000 from the hijack and Ryan Riess called from the small blind. The player in the big blind folded and they went heads-up to the {q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop.

Riess checked his option to the aggressor and Bunch continued with a bet of 8,000. Riess called and the {10-Hearts} came down on the turn.

Both players checked on the turn to see the {9-Spades} river card and they checked one more time. Bunch showed {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and that was enough to take down the pot.

Scott Baumstein

Big O

Jeremy Harkin bet 16,000 from the small blind on a {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop, Scott Baumstein potted to 69,000 from the big blind, and Randy Sim went all-in from the button. Harkin got out of the way, and Baumstein and Sim went heads-up for all of Sim's chips.

Randy Sim: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Scott Baumstein: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Final Board: {q-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Running kings on the turn and river gave Baumstein quads, and sent Sim packing.

Tieu Eliminates Bronshtein

Level 18 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Big O

Joe Tehan opened for 8,000 from the hijack, and Yuval Bronshtein called from the cutoff. Tehan continued for 12,000 on the {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop, and Bronshtein potted t0 56,500.

After a few moments in the tank. Tehan re-potted, and Bronshtein called for the remainder of his chips.

Joe Tehan: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Yuval Bronshtein: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Final Board: {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The river {9-Hearts} eliminated any hope of Bronshtein chopping with a low, and Tieu took down the massive pot.

Leonard Gives Up

Level 19 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Patrick Leonard in a previous event
Patrick Leonard in a previous event

Omaha Hi-Lo

The complete {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Clubs} board was already out there and Patrick Leonard and his opponent both had 32,000 in front of them. Leonard was put under pressure by his opponent when they bet another 16,000.

Leonard was visibly in doubt and he said ''so close'' before ultimately deciding to let it go.

The Brit has already racked up four WSOP cashes this year and this will be his fifth. His best finish was in Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better when he finished in ninth for $15,897 and he still has the opportunity to improve on that score.
