Weisner Wins a Flip to Double

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Melanie Weisner
Melanie Weisner

Melanie Weisner got all of her chips in the middle before the flop for 1,135,000 against one player.

Melanie Weisner: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}

It was the coin flip and the dealer spread a flop of {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} giving Weisner a flush draw as well as her two overcards. The turn sealed her double up when the {j-Hearts} hit and the {5-Spades} on the river was just a formality.

Smith Eliminates Franklin

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Tom Franklin
Tom Franklin

On the turn with the board reading {j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} and roughly 400,000 in the middle, Mark Smith bet out 400,000 and "Captain" Tom Franklin was in the tank. After mulling it over for a while he eventually put in his 425,000 total and Smith called the extra 25,000.

Mark Smith: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Tom Franklin: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Franklin was in bad shape needing to catch an ace or a jack on the river and the {7-Spades} wasn't either of those sending him to the payout desk.

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

With the pot already brewed to over 1,300,000 the board read {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, It was heads-up and Charles Belser's opponent checked to him. Belser moved all in for 1,195,000 and his opponent thought about it for a while.

Erik Cajelais
Erik Cajelais

The under-the-gun player raised to 65,000, Erik Cajelais called next to act, the cutoff, button and both blinds came along as well.

The flop got checked around by all six players on the {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, and on the turn {2-Clubs} the blinds and the under-the-gun player checked to Cajelais who fired out 210,000. The cutoff and button called and the other three players threw their cards in the muck.

The river was the {a-Spades} and all three players checked. Cajelais tabled {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a pair of tens and scooped the pot when the other two discarded their cards.

Tuhrim Takes Two

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

An early position player opened to 70,000, and Richard Tuhrim called from the hijack. Players in the cutoff and big blind also called, going four ways to a {j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop.

The action checked to the cutoff, who bet 90,000 and got two folds, with Tuhrim calling. Both players checked the {9-Diamonds} turn, and Tuhrim put out a big bet for 355,000. The cutoff, with about 700,000 left behind, folded.

On the following hand, Tuhrim raised to 70,000 from middle position, got a call from the big blind, and took down the small pot with {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} at showdown, after both players checked all three streets.

Johnson Puts his Opponent in the Tank

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

The action folded around to the hijack who raised to 70,000 and Kenneth Johnson called in the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Johnson check-called 85,000. The turn was the {4-Hearts} and Johnson check-called once again, this time for 160,000.

The {6-Hearts} fell on the river, Johnson asked how much his opponent had left, and after finding out it was roughly 950,000 remaining he led out for 600,000. The opponent went into the tank for about three minutes before deciding to let his hand go. Johnson said, "Good fold" as he threw his cards in the muck.
