Drivas Wins Massive Pot From Besancon; Takes Over the Lead

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

On a flop reading {3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Chris Chong checked from the small blind and Jeanpierre Besancon bet 600,000 from the big blind. Thomas Drivas called from the cutoff and Chong foled.

The turn brought the {2-Clubs} and Besancon checked. Drivas bet 1,400,000 and Besancon check-raised to 6,000,000. Drivas added the remainder to call.

The {9-Diamonds} completed the board and Besancon fired 11,500,000. Drivas thought for a long while, then made the call with his last 10,200,000. Besancon showed {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for a bluff and Besancon revealed {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for threes full of deuces to win the pot.

Double for Mayekar

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Short-stacked Sanjay Mayekar shoved for about 2,000,000 from the hijack and Mario Hofler looked him up from the big blind, holding slightly better hand with {a-Spades}{10-Spades} against {k-Spades}{8-Spades}. Mayekar found what he needed on the {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} board and doubled up.

Karmatckii on the Rise

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Arsenii Karmatckii
Arsenii Karmatckii

Arsenii Karmatckii raised to 850,000 in the second position and Ekrem Bozkurt three-bet shoved on his left, playing around 12 big blinds. Action returned to Karmatckii who called.

Karmatckii had a higher pair with {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} against {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Bozkurt couldn't catch a seven on the {4-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts} runout. Karmatckii added more chips to his big stack, solidifying himself as the tournament chip leader.

Leng Flips Well

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Ryan Leng moved forward most of his chips in the hijack and Nino Ullman put him at risk from the big blind. Leng called for 3,000,000 total.

Leng had {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and he raced against {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. The {5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Hearts} flop pushed Leng very close to double and the {7-Spades} turn left Ullman drawing dead. The {10-Hearts} river was a formality.
