Small Pot for Pustula

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Michal Lubas has eventually found a seat in the Amazon Gold section that now also features a restart, and Jacek Pustula is in the same section on a table that also features Norson Saho and DJ MacKinnon. On a {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{k-Clubs} turn, Pustula bet 4,000 out of the small blind and won the small pot uncontested.

Mini Main a Hit

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

There are already over 4,716 players in the field, significant if it was a re-entry tournament but remarkable considering the Mini Main is a freezeout. In addition, there are queues of people throughout the hallways of the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino, patiently waiting to take a seat. One hopeful told his friend "I've never seen it like this."

Two Barrels by Michaelis

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

After a limp, Paul Michaelis raised to 4,100 preflop and picked up one caller to see the {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop. Once the action checked to the German, he tossed in a continuation bet for 8,200 and received a call. On the {8-Spades} turn, a second barrel for 35,000 did the trick to win the pot for Michaelis.

McEvoy Kickers

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Tom McEvoy
Tom McEvoy

Tom McEvoy has just won a decent pot against the player on his left. McEvoy opened to 1,700 from under the gun and got a call behind and one from his neighbor in the big blind.

On the {9-Spades}{4-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop, McEvoy continued for 4,000 and only the big blind check-called. The {j-Hearts} went check-check and on the {6-Clubs} river, McEvoy called when his opponent lead 7,300 into the pot.

Tom McEvoy: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Both players had paired the ace but McEvoy took the pot with the better kicker.

Gordo Wins Classic Race

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Yiyao Li ended up all in for 31,200 preflop with the {a-Spades}{k-Spades} and had a classic race against the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} of Gillermo Gordo. The board came {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and the jacks held up to send Li to the rail. Next to Gordo is Enrico Rudelitz, who has also already doubled his stack.

As soon as he was gone, the seat was filled with a new entry as at least 50 players are waiting for a seat assignment in the Amazon room.
