Warren Calls It

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

All the money went in preflop and Joseph Warren was the player at risk with the best of it, holding an overpair of {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} to Lisa Fong's {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

"I never win these, don't worry", said Warren. Though PokerNews can't corroborate whether that statement is true or not, it was certainly the case this time, with the board running out {4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Aces for Deng

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Elia Ahmadian was all in with the {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and Yi Jack Deng had him covered and in dominating shape, turning over the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. The board came {q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades} and that sent Ahmadian to the payout desk. There's still a line of more than 50 players waiting as the field has already been culled down by more than 100 players in the first level of the day.

Big Double for Mezei

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Antal Mezei
Antal Mezei

Martin Vega departed and Antal Mezei avoided the same fate after he doubled for 815,000 through Marius Meier. It was a classic flip with the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for Mezei and the {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for Meier.

The board came {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} and that cut Meier's stack into more than half.

Gentry Knocks-Out Opponent to Build

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

It was an undeal spot for Ryan Gentry just now, facing a 275,000 all-in in front and looking down to see two ladies in his hands. He raised to 525,000 and though one player looked tempted, they eventually folded and the two players turned their cards face up.

Ryan Gentry: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

There was no six on the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts} board and Gentry sends one to the rail.

Notables on the Rail

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Among those to bust early on were Dylan Wilkerson, Robert Sherwood, Ronan Monfort, Teunis Kooij and David Moses, all among a constant stream of players heading to the payout desk with more than 50 people waiting in line.

According to Kooij, he had a bad run of cards when running with queens into kings, then tripling up with ace-eight suited only to run ace-king suited into kings.

Lombardo Runs into Noujeim

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

It must have looked like a good spot, with only 10 big blinds in play, John Lombardo moved all in with {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} and ran into [Removed:191]'s {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

The board came {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Noujeim chips up to around average stack now.
