Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The tournament is at the final break of the day. There are two levels left after the 15-minute break and the blinds will be 600/1,200 with a 1,200 big blind ante.

The players are expected to be back in their seats by midnight.

Calamusa Gets it Right

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The flop was down {2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Pierre Calamusa, on the button, called a 2,800 bet from the player under the gun.

Calamusa then called a 6,000 bet on the {3-Hearts} turn, before facing a 16,700 all in on the {6-Spades} river.

Calamusa needed time to think and had his gaze on the board for a minute before making the call.

The Frenchman saw his opponent flip over {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} for king high and scored the elimination holding {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for two pair.

Tardif Doubles

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The board was down {6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Patrick Tardif made a pot-sized all in from the cutoff for 13,000.

His opponent was sat on the button and thought for 30 seconds before throwing the calling chips into the middle.

Tardif flipped over {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and was ahead of his opponent's {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The river fell the {6-Spades} and Tardif completed the double up.

The player in the hijack raised to 2,500 and Jake Schindler, who just sat down in the tournament, three-bet to 7,000 from the button. The player in the small blind got out of the way but Benjamin Pollak pushed all in for 47,000.

Both the initial raiser and Schindler folded in quick fashion and Pollak collected some chips without showdown.
