Farrell Picked Off

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Niall Farrell and his opponent made it to the {5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} river with around 35,000 in the middle. Farrell bet 7,200 in position and he received a call.

Farrell rolled over {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a missed draw and the other player scooped the pot after showing {9-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

Landis Flops a Set and Gets Paid

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Action checked around to Patty Landis on the turn who went all in for her last 15,800 on a board of {j-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. The player in the big blind folded which left her heads up with the player under the gun, who made the call.

Landis: {6-}{6-}
UTG: {9-}{9-}

The river was a safe {4-Diamonds} which secured the double up for Landis, who poker fans might know as Daniel Negreanu's long time assistant.

Kim Outflips Panelli

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Following a raise to 1,000 and a call from the players in the middle positions, Christine Kim squeezed to 3,100 from the hijack. Alexandra Panelli cold four-bet shoved for her last 5,800 and the action returned to Kim who called.

Kim: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Panelli: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The runout of {6-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} paired Kim's high cards and Panelli was eliminated.

"I Don't Know If I Like Water Enough to Go a Third Time"

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

With around 10,000 in the pot and a flop of {7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}, Jeff Hill was in the hijack with a T5,000 chip in front of him and he was debating what to do. MSPT Season 6 Player of the Year Mark Hodge had 11,500 out in front on the button with 12,400 behind, and another player in middle position had matched it.

Eventually, Hill raised to 35,000, Hodge called off, and the middle-position player folded.

"You got the sevens?" Hodge asked. Hill didn't.

Hill: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Hodge: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

"I'll take that," said a hopeful Hodge, who had the better kicker.

The {8-Hearts} turn was of no consequence but the {k-Hearts} river was as Hill made a full house to score the elimination.

"I don't know if I like water enough to go a third time," said Hodge before heading for the rail.

Morris Bricks Flush Draw

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

On a flop of {8-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades}, Arthur Morris moved all in from the hijack and a player on his left called the 11,800-wager. The player in the big blind called as well while a fourth player folded in an early position.

The big blind fired 7,000 on the {a-Clubs} turn and another 8,000 on the {6-Diamonds} river. He was called on the turn but the other player folded to the river-bet.

Morris announced that he had spades, showing {7-Spades}{4-Spades} for air, and the big blind scooped the pot with {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

"See you in a few," said Morris who confirmed that he'll rejoin the field today.

Fonacier Takes Down Back-to-Back Pots

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Brian Altman opened to 800 from early-position and got called by Erwin Fonacier on the button, the small blind and the big blind.

It was four ways to a flop of {6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, Altman continuation-bet 800, both Fonacier and the big blind called.

The turn brought the {k-Hearts} and action checked to Fonacier who bet 2,500, the big blind folded and Altman called.

It was heads-up to the river which was the {5-Clubs}. Altman check-called a bet of 6,500 and Fonacier showed two pair with the {4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, which was good enough to take down the pot.

In the very next hand there was an open in early-position to 800, a player in middle position called and Fonacier three-bet the cutoff to 2,500. The big blind, early-position raiser and the player in middle position all called.

It was four ways to a flop of {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Action got to the player in middle position who bet 3,000 and got called only by Fonacier.

It was heads-up to the turn which was the {a-Diamonds}. Both players checked.

The river brought the {7-Hearts}. Once the action checked to Fonacier he threw out a single 25,000 chip which covered his opponent, who wasted little time before he folded his hand.
