Break

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The players are on their last 15-minute break of the day. They will play two more levels when they are back at approximately midnight.

Late registration will be closed as soon as the ninth level starts.

Herrin Scoops One Just Before the Last Break

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

In the last hand before the last break the under-the-gun player raised it up to 2,500. From the next seat over Chris Herrin three-bet to 9,000, and when action folded back around to the under-the-gun player he made the call.

After the under-the-gun player checked the {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop, Herrin continued with a bet of 7,000, which the under-the-gun player check-called. Both players then checked the {7-Hearts} turn and {2-Clubs} river and after Herrin said "Ace," and tabled {a-Spades}{4-Spades}, the under-the-gun player said "I knew it," and tabled {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Calvin Anderson earlier this summer
Calvin Anderson earlier this summer

A player raised to 2,200 and two others called before Calvin Anderson put his last 22,700 in the middle. The initial raiser called and the other two folded. Anderson was behind with {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} against {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} of his opponent.

The board ran out with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Anderson was eliminated from the tournament.

Bakes Eliminated

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
David "Bakes" Baker earlier this summer
David "Bakes" Baker earlier this summer

David 'Bakes' Baker pushed his last 19,300 in the middle with {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and he was at risk and behind against the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} of his opponent.

The {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop had plenty of options for a chop but the {k-Spades} turn ruined that. No queen on the river as the {2-Diamonds} came down and Baker was sent to the rail.

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Oliver Price three-bet all in from the small blind when the player in the cutoff raised to 2,000. Price's all-in bet was for 9,900 and he was called by his opponent.

Small Pot for Heath

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Ben Heath raised from under the gun to 2,000 and he was called by the player on the button. The flop was dealt {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Heath was the first to act.

He continued with a bet of 1,800 and that was enough to make his opponent fold and the Brit took the pot down. He is seated at the same table as Sam Grafton and Oliver Ruesing and both of them have a stack of about three time the initial 20,000.

Yaroshevskyy Bombs the Flop

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Igor Yaroshevskyy
Igor Yaroshevskyy

A player in early position raised it 2,500 and got two callers. With action on Igor Yaroshevskyy in the big blind he three-bet shoved his short stack. The original raiser then four-bet to 12,500, which was enough to get the two remaining players to fold.

Igor Yaroshevskyy: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Original Raiser: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

Yaroshevskyy was behind, but that all changed after the dealer fanned the {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop, which gave him the nut flush and secured his double-up even before the {q-Diamonds} turn and {9-Diamonds} river.
