Cada Talks Himself into Doubling Kabrhel

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Joe Cada
Joe Cada

Joe Cada fired 10,000 from the big blind into a pot of just under 30,000 with the board reading {8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Martin Kabrhel raised all in on Cada's left. Kabrhel had 88,000 behind and Cada had him covered by just 500. The former Main Event champ started mumbling, thinking about Kabrhel's possible combos.

Kabrhel started an interaction with Cada, saying, "do you want advice? When somebody's talking, it's never bluff. Never ever."

Cada apologized to the table for taking his time, visibly pained by the decision.

"I was ready to fold, but I feel like I talked myself into this one," Cada said. "It could be so bad," he added.

After a few more seconds, he called.

Kabrhel turned up {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a flopped set and Cada showed {10-Clubs}{3-Spades} for two pair.

"Give him a ten!" Kabrhel told the dealer.

But the river was the {5-Hearts} and Kabrhel scored a full double while Cada was left with the smallest chip in play.

Bohlman Puzzled by Seiver's Overbet

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Scott Bohlman
Scott Bohlman

Scott Seiver and Scott Bohlman made it to the river of the {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} board with around 50,000 in the middle.

Seiver was in the hijack and he announced a bet of 72,500. Bohlman tanked on the button.

"I don't know if this is the 'I got it' 72.5 or if it's the 'I have an ace and you might have an ace' 72.5 or the 'I have air' 72.5," Bohlman told Seiver who laughed.

"Ooof, faded the jam," Seiver said, knowing Bohlman wasn't going to shove.

"I have a problem with my hand," Bohlman continued.

Then he said he had the top of his range and called after a little more or thought.

Seiver tabled {a-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Bohlman took it down with the {j-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Di Rosa Bubbles

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Joseph Di Rosa Rojas
Joseph Di Rosa Rojas

Chip leader Michael Gagliano opened to 20,000 from middle position and Joseph Di Rosa put in play his last 42,000. Gagliano called.

Di Rosa showed {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} but Gagliano had two live cards with {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Moreover, the {2-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop gave Gagliano a combo draw and he spiked a flush on the {4-Clubs} turn.

Di Rosia could still survive should a fourth club hit the board, but the river was the {9-Diamonds} and Di Rosa bubbled the tournament, finished in 29th place.

Alexandru Papazian Eliminated in 18th Place ($2,975)

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Alexandru Papazian
Alexandru Papazian

Alexandru Papazian was all in before the flop, shortly after getting a double just moments ago, and got action from Cord Garcia.

Papazian: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Garcia: {a-Clubs}{q-}

The dealer ran the board out {j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Papazian was eliminated in 18th place for $2,975.

William Kakon Eliminated in 17th Place ($2,975)

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
William Kakon
William Kakon

William Kakon raised all in under the gun and Tommy Nguyen matched the 124,000-shove, sitting two seats to Kakon's left. All other players folded and Kakon saw that he was in trouble, running with {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} into {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

The {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop was awful for Kakon, who got at least some hope when the {q-Spades} hit the turn. Kakon called for a ten but the river was the {q-Clubs} instead.

Tim Andrew Eliminated in 16th Place ($2,975)

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Timothy Andrew
Timothy Andrew

Tim Andrew moved all in for 191,000 from middle position and action folded to Thom Werthmann in the small blind. He thought for a long time before deciding to call. Haixia Zhang was in the big blind and asked for a count before deciding to call as well.

The dealer fanned a flop of {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Spades} and Werthmann checked. Zhang moved all in and Werthmann sigh-folded.

Andrew: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Zhang: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Andrew needed to improve against Zhang's pocket aces, but unfortunately for him the turn was the {k-Hearts} and the river was the {8-Clubs}, sending him to the rail in 16th place for $2,975.

"I had him beat by a lot," said Werthmann. "I like how you played that."

Brian Yoon Eliminated in 15th Place ($3,584)

Brian Yoon
Brian Yoon

Michael Gagliano raised to 35,000 from the cutoff and Brian Yoon shoved his 405,000 from the small blind. Gagliano verified the count and then called.

Yoon: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Gagliano: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

Gagliano had Yoon on the ropes and the {2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} offered no help to the underdog.

Kirk Caldwell moved all in for 243,000 from under the gun and Thom Werthmann moved all in over top from early position. Action folded around and the cards were on their backs.

Caldwell: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Werthmann: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

It was a classic race, with Caldwell needing to improve to stay in the tournament. The dealer ran the board out {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{k-Clubs} and Caldwell couldn't catch any heat and headed to the payout desk to collect $3,584 for 14th place.

Nikita Luther raised to 35,000 in the cutoff and Tommy Nguyen shoved from the small blind. Luther had no problem calling with {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}, but she ran into {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}.

The board of {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} didn't provide any help for Luther who walked away in 13th place.

James Mackey Eliminated in 12th Place ($4,402)

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
James Mackey
James Mackey

James Mackey shoved for about 17 bigs from the button and Brett Apter peeled a strong hand in the small blind. Apter reshoved and Upeshka De Silva folded in the big, giving a green light to the showdown.

Mackey: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Apter: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Mackey had a worse hand but both of his cards were live. Nonetheless, he couldn't catch any piece of the board as the dealer spread out the {5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} on the felt.

Mackey wished the table good luck before picking up a payout slip for his 12th-place finish.
