Strebkov Folds Out Jamasi; Batow Eliminated by Richards

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

There was around 60,000 in the pot on a board of {2-Spades}{4-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Denis Strebkov had a bet in front of him of 55,000. Action was on his opponent, Farhad Jamasi, who was on the button and was being put to a decision for the majority of his chips.

After some thought, Jamasi folded.

Meanwhile on another table, Timothy Batow was eliminated by John Richards in a hand that was only described among the players on that side of the table as "a secret hand."

With Batow's elimination, the field is now one bust out away from reaching the money.

Schropfer Knocks Out Rodrigo

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

There was around 17,000 in the pot on a flop of {8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Thomas Schropfer checked from the small blind. Chen Hao was in the cutoff and bet 5,000. Axel Rodrigo was on the button and raised to 20,000 and Schropfer reraised the size of the pot. Hao quickly folded and Rodrigo called off his remaining chips.

Axel Rodrigo: {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Thomas Schropfer: {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

Both players found themselves with a straight. The turn came {k-Diamonds}, changing nothing, however the river fell {10-Clubs} to give Scropfer a ten-high straight to Rodgrigo's nine-high straight and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Hao Hurts Rodrigo

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Chen Hao raised on the button to 5,000 and Axel Rodrigo called in the big blind.

The flop fell {8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Rodrigo first checked. Haocontinued for 6,500 and Rodrigo raised it to 30,000. Hao quickly called.

On the {j-Spades} turn, Rodrigo fired 72,000 and once again, Hao called. The {10-Spades} went check-check on the river and Rodrigo tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} but the pot was sent to Hao who held {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} for two pair.

Krasienko Doubles Through Wessman

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

All the chips went in the middle preflop between Anders Weissmann and Paul Krasienko, who was at risk for his tournament with a stack of 17,900.

Krasienko had the best hand with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, versus {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for Weissman and doubled up after the board brought {7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

Owais Ahmed
Owais Ahmed

Owais Ahmed was all in and called by Andreas Klatt in a blind-versus-blind situation on a flop of {k-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

Owais Ahmed: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Andreas Klatt: {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Ahmed's aces and gutshot straight draw were in bad shape against Klatt's two pair, flush draw, and open-ended straight draw. The turn {5-Clubs} and river {6-Diamonds} sealed the deal and Ahmed was sent home before the first break of the day.
