Rivest Eliminated by Schulz

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Robert Schulz opened to 1,300 and picked up one caller before Kevin Rivest got his last 9,400 in. Schulz was the only caller and the cards were flipped over.

Kevin Rivest: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Robert Schulz: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

The Germans are used to the phrase" it is always coming seven" by now and that once again proved to be true on the {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{k-Spades}{7-Hearts} run out as Schulz got there eventually.

Little Raises Big

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Jonathan Little
Jonathan Little

Jonathan Little has dropped from where he was a couple of levels ago. The pro has taken some back though after making a big raise on a {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop, raising to 30,000 over a 5,000 bet. Franco Mancini was the man under pressure, with a call committing the majority of his 40,000 stack. Mancini decided better of it and let it go.

Sorgen Checks Back a Set

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Three players put in 1,400 each preflop and the flop came {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, the small blind checked, the player in the middle bet out 3,000 and John Sorgen raised to 7,000, the small blind folded and the player who bet called the raise.

The turn was the {4-Spades}, and after Sorgen's opponent checked he fired out 10,000 and his opponent called. The {3-Spades} landed on the river and Sorgen's opponent checked and he checked back. Sorgen tabled {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a flopped set of fives and his opponent mucked his hand.

Dubini Rising

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Richard Dubini already knows what it feels like to run deep in the $10,000 Main Event as he finished 12th for $535,000 back in 2017. While the start into Day 1b was not the greatest, Dubini has bounced back and holds more than the starting stack by now.

In a hand with Robert Nolen, Dubini fired three barrels on a board of {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} and the final two bets were for 6,000 and 15,000 respectively. Nolen called the first bet and let go on the river.

Owen Vying for Chip Lead

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Adam Owen
Adam Owen

Adam Owen joined Amazon at the beginning of Level 5. He arrived with almost 200,000 in front and in the last hour or so he has added chunks to his already impressive stack.

Just now he made a little more in a hand against Daniel Stanley. The two players were on a {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts} turn and Owen check-called a 5,000 bet. The river was the {6-Hearts} and Owen checked again, with Stanley checking it back. Owen turned over {k-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a full house and Stanley sent his cards into the muck.

Owen is in excellent shape to bag the chip lead when Day 1b concludes in 25 minutes.
